Ripoff? Maybe, Maybe not. You decide. They had the price of a white Maytag refrigerator listed at $1599.00. They say they will meet and beat the regular retail price by 11% of their local competitor.
After I tried to get the price match guarantee, they looked in their computer and found that they mismarked the price and that it should have been marked $1499.00. (Same as the competitors price.)
I feel they were selling them at $100 more than they should have been and because they were marked up should have beat the competitor price by 11% giving me the 11% discount. The Kokomo store refused. I called the corporate PH.# they gave me and they refused to honor the price match+11% stating they had to go with what they had in the computer instead of what they had marked on the price tag. (Big red sign with black marker.)
I'm sorry I don't have the corporate Ph.# handy to Post at the moment, but it can obtained at any store or feel free to E-mail me by using the rebuttal box and I will send it to you as soon as possible.
PS. We need to stick together as consumers to protect one another from fraud and rip-off businesses. One thing I have discovered is, even small businesses are covered under business laws that shelter them for the most part to the extent that trying to get back what you lost or are owed by yourself is almost impossible unless you spend far more money than the whole thing is worth or can pay your share for a class action lawsuit and can afford the time to follow up with it(generally 3+ yrs).
