Merchants Credit Guide, CFB Financial Ripoff bogus debt collection extortion and fraud Chicago Illinois

Yet another for the Merchants' Credit scam. All the usual things others have posted. The old, uncollectable, invalid debt from the early 90's. The demand letter with 3 payment options. The phone call from Ken Hughs. Now, here's the fun part.

CFB Financial LLC has four incarnations. Each with the same addresses, principals, and agent for service.

All the address info, etc. for all the CFB incarnations match the address info, etc. for Merchants' Credit Guide
Secretary Edwin S Burtis, same

The Nice folks at the link below list the addresses of the Burtis clan, and the Phone for Edwin. That entry is dated 5/4/05. Alas the Burtis clan has removed that info. from the sec. of state filing. I wonder if the phone number is still good.

"A quick search of the Illinois Secretary of State's website for Merchants Credit Guide Co. lists a Daniel F. Burtis as its President. Beautifully, it also lists what I assume is his home address: Unfortunately, his phone number appears to be unlisted. But...Edwin S. Burtis of website as the Corporate Secretary of Merchants. And...his phone number can be found on the internet

Finally, just for fun I searched the local county recorder. Apparently Edwin holds his property in a trust...no doubt to protect himself from his kin folk
