On July 5, 2015, I went to this Metro PCS - Metro Link store and was quoted a total price "out the door" of $130 for a LG Leon cell phone, activation and first month's service by one of the 2 salesmen behind the counter there.

The second salesman asked for my State issued ID and I presented my Driver's License.  As he was imputing my information into the store computer, I asked him a couple of questions, but he did not respond.  After my information was put in, I was told by the first salesman that my bill was $143.68.  I stated:  "You told me my total price was going to be $130."  He replied,  "There are taxes."

I asked that my Driver's License be returned to me, which it was and walked out.

All the sales personnel at this store are Mexican or Mexican-Americans and the concept iof "Total out the door cost to the customer" may not be customary to them or may not be a part of their understanding or training.

I encourage potential customers to ask for a written quote of "Total Out The Door Cost" before giving anyone at Metro PCS - Metro Link their State Issued ID.   I also encourage corporate management to instruct their sales personnel to respond to customer questions when the customer has a question instead of the salesman continuing to type up the sales contract.  I am uncertain if English was their first language.

Metropcs response

AUTHOR: Metropcs - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 08, 2015

Sorry for the bad experience, The day you came in you were quoted $130.00, and your questions regarding coverage area, phone specials, and monthly bill were answered, because I make sure my customers are fully knowledgable about Metropcs and our products. In regards to why your bill came out to $143 is because you requested a phone case which was discounted 30%, insurance, and taxes. Also I asked for your state ID is for accuracy of your new account. I do apologize for the misunderstanding or miscommunication but I enjoy assisting customers and it makes me happy to see customers become metro customers and that they are happy. If possible I would like to assist you in your cell phone purchase, please do visit us on Estate. Also my English is excellent and the day you came in I answered all your questions and you acknowledged by asking other questions and shaking your head up and down. If you did not want the case all you would have paid is $130 as quoted.
