Instead of assuming that the item was "pulled because it was too good of a deal", its most likely that it got sold out while you were placing your order. If it was indeed a "great deal", then everyone else that regularly visits the site also seen the same deal. Also, emails are sent to our regular customers that advertise some of our better specials.
