My husband is an IT-Var/Reseller and promotes software for Microsoft and we are both appalled at the lack of consumer protection that they have shown when it comes to protecting the financial information of a consumer and not to mention the investment when it comes to Xbox Live accounts. My son has become so involved in this the X box live gaming, in fact he was considering getting involve w/ the MLG circuit, but frankly I doubt this will be the game plan from now on. In the last 3 years, there has been several times when his account have been hacked. Where once such happens, the hackers have access to the credit card or Debit card information that is on the system. You can also buy a points card at the local electronics retailer, however, if the account is hacked you have absolutely no way of ever getting it back, since according to Microsoft you can't prove that it was yours to begin with...PLEASE...the biggest monopoly in the World when it comes to IT, cannot figure out who originally owed an account? After hundreds of dollars in investing in 1 account, could be less could be more, is this a trick of Microsoft to get consumers to forfeit their investment, so they can become what, the next Global monopoly..oh I forgot, they allready are.
Lately within the last 3 months, we now have three accounts that were hacked, and after numerous hours spent speaking with representatives from Non-US countries...India, Phillipines, Argentina..the accounts remain with the hackers, and they keep piling up the charges on my credit card. Yes, I've allready called the CC, but this is beside the point, how many hundreds of dollars, thousands of dollars are being recouped by Microsoft with this scam of theirs. For all we know the same people that say are part of Microsoft could be the ones that are hacking into the accounts; inside job perhaps? How many others are out there who are being ripped off? Let's join together and put pressure on this monopoly! It is outrageous.
