This is a story with multiple phases - the original one belongs to T-Mobile, next on my review. 3 times this company has contacted us via phone call and email, 3 times with the wrong 4 last social, wrong account, wrong phone numbers. Long story short - another commonly named hispanic defaulted on the payment to T-Mobile so it went to collection agency. First call, we made it clear that we were not the people they were looking for. Of course they start the conversation with their scare tactics, then they threaten us with their scare tactics and the "conversation is being recorded" (oh please record it!). When told they have the wrong person, they push to see if they can scare us. Nope, take us off your list.
Second time we get call and email. Same discussion. They send a Spanish speaking person to intimidate us. We are not the person you are looking for - $169 debt collection - they've spent more on calls than what the bill is worth. In email which we have, they say "we are sorry and you will no longer be contacted". We get a third call - this time from Mr. Jeffrey Sanches in Costa Rica who also starts out with the scare tactics. Irate we ask to speak with Supervisor and a Mr. Jairo Soto gets on the line. "You dont understand" he says, - what is there to understand - you have the wrong people.
While on one phone I get on line to get the corporate number - answered by indian in india. Now we are fuming, and they contact us with an unprepared to deal with irate clients Merrelle Carrington who tells us in her most condescending (Sir this is not my problem) attitude, that she will eliminate us from their database. 3 times? Really? They have an "outsourced" Costa Rican office call us with the assumption we are undereducated hispanics that can easily be bullied and harrassed? Seriously.
San Diego based company - dont you train employees in how to do searches and background check using the information you have to find the right person? I wonder how many poor saps have caved in and paid just not to be harassed, when the debt wasnt theirs. As for Ms Carrington, it is embarassing to deal with a US so called professional so ill prepared to deal with a harassed by your company private citizen. Beware of calls from MCM if you dont owe money to anyone - they will pester and harass you to no end. Next stop - Constituent Affairs at our local appointed official to deal with harassing Californians that outsource to Costa Rica and India to harass US citizens.
