midland mortgage just sent us a letter informing of forclosure proceedings. we were late for two weeks and paid the late fee. we called and the debt collector of the mortgage company said it was sent as a procedure. they even said we weren't in forclosure. So basically, they just scared us. if you are late and pay that months with the late fee and another payment is due in a week or so, they are suppose to send in a  letter is what they said.

 I live in massachusetts and there are laws . first, they are not suppose to send you a letter like that if you are late only a few weeks. second, they are suppose to work with you if you are late or cannot make your payments. they have a 90 day cure for this. Our friend did not make a mortgage payment for a year and they waited a year before foreclosure took place.

my husband was laid off a few years ago and we were two months late before they sent us any letter. this must be a new thing they are doing if they are sending a letter after being late only a few weeks even after paying the late fee. anyway, we are now watching this company ,especially after all the negative comments made. Everyone , please beware and maybe consider another company. We had columbia national before  and they were always so good to us before we were sold to this one.
