IF YOU'RE THINKING of sending your child to Miracle Meadows School, chances are you have been not heard the testimony of Families who have suffered despair at the end of their experience. You may feel desperate that you child seems to be losing interest in the church; and if you're financially capable of Paying over 2,000.00 per month to follow the Guidance of The Program that was established by the sweat, blood, and tears of an innumerable caravan of Ex-employees who have been drawn their by the "Holy Spirit" because "Where evil is, good does abound."
The Campus is better for breaking Staff than for The Organized Efficiency that come with long term employees.
You may note on their web page under the menu item ( Q/A ) the question. "Can Seventh Day Adventist Traditional Educational Benefit Assist in the Payment of Tuition as MMS?" Note that the question is answered very vaguely. "Ask The Proper Department officers at your Conference Level." It is not widely known that "Employees of the Seventh Day Adventist World Wide Church are "blessed" in tuition reimbursement of up to and usual 80%. Tuition cost have skyrocketed since I was on campus. But I have not abandoned my position.
I am the Executive Administrator, and I have the Photos from Campus for 4 years almost; and many older. I have the only records that are original of the Years of Operation, As are the Official Minutes of the Board of Directors, and Can Show you that I am not a "Part time" "volunteer" "untrained" or "Legal Professional," hired as a staff member.
I went there on a stipend agreement; and was virtually "Advised by Holly ( The Campus Accountant) that I was used to Fire, after she had been transferred to PR. Once in PR, I received contact, only from Gayle Clark. At the time, I had no way of knowing that she was repeating the same actions that she had taken so many times.
We were 30k in the red and tuition was less and 1000.00. After Holley was fired, and ordered to leave immediately from Puerto Rico, not to return to campus on her way out, I became so involved in every phase of the operation that I was the Acting Administrator. There was one 486 Desk Top Computer. Academic Record were disorganized and many did not exist at all. I was told that the Board had Ordered her to be terminated and that she had embezzled funds and had been manipulating the books for months. I could not bear to tell Holly the accusations; but Whether it came from me for someone else, apparently she was fired. Returning to campus I presented to the Board that I was capable to organized the Offices and with little expense. The Records showed that It was my decision and 24/7 responsibility taken that provided the way out of debt. Organization was taking hold. Soon, the Board Requested My Attendance to the Meeting. I was asked if I would consider taking responsibility for the Administration of the Campus, both at Puerto Rico and West Virginia. Discussion arose about prior experience and education.
I had served for 2 years in Oregon, outside Rapid City in a State Certified Position as Administrator and House Parent of a Private Christian Co-ed Foster Home. The difference is that Marcola Road Youth Community did not cater specifically to the SDA Community. It was, however, under the administration of a Dedicated Seventh Day Adventist House Father, even as such a young age. The Sabbath became a Choice of the Young People, and the House Mother, who was struggling to keep order, was assisted by her "Engage to be Husband" was a SDA Doctor, who she was devoted too. I worked under a temporary license until I passed the state board. I appreciated the State Certification and social work, as I considered, was originally the business of the church.
My stay would have been longer, except for the fact that every student was taken in one day by the state because the House Mother had derided my authority and allowed the Girls to "have a slumber party and stay up all night." Their excuse was that it was the last day of Christmas Holidays before having to go back to thier regular early hour wake up. Marilyn, insistent of "no harm could be done" agreed to take responsibility. I ignored all the noises up stairs after calling the upstairs apartment which separated the to dormitory hallways and Marilyn reported that the girls were just jumping on the beds and having pillow fights. As a rule, consistency in sleep patterns are important for health and to assist to insure against problems at low supervision times.
At 3:00 am in the morning the fire alarm awakened me. It had not been tripped, but Marilyn had pulled the manual fire alarm that triggered the state police and emergency services.
She had checked on them, after getting tired of the noise herself; and "not in a good mood" as wasn't unusual. She was seeing counselors and had a lot of issues with her past, and she was in her 40s and finally having to face them.
She found the Boys and Severally gained entry into the dorm. Jumping on the beds and pillow fights was later discovered to be an assumption. She had not checked. She over reacted and alarmed every one who, at one, followed the drill plan if they were not involved and the manipulators I found coming down the stairwell from the Girls Dorm Entry. She reported to the state that all of the the students were involved. That was not the truth and yet, the state acted and filed juvenile charges and some were 18 and faced adult charges. They were all taken at once, before 10:00 am in shackles and handcuffs.
That was the first time that I had invested so much time with students that really convinced me that "It was not biblical to refrain from getting attached to clients." "The students that I saw healing from years of neglect, abuse, and and wrong decisions were those that thought of me "NOT" as a house parent, but as "a father." I saw a few students, but some I never saw again.
A few years later I learned that "getting attached to elderly patients in the nursing home environment, allowed them to come to peace with issues that were long hidden. Their response was directed related to the "working definition of love." "Personal attention." Marilyn was not attached; but was a warlord. I had practiced communication skills all my life; and she was only able to render "feedback" counseling. "She was first for the state and then for the students." "Both have their place. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and Unto God what is God's."
Miracle Meadows, was dispersed in the same pattern. I returned from Puerto Rico, knowing that I had left a "State of the Campus Report for the Board of Directors." It acknowledged my work with the State in Areas that we could not avoid. The State DHR had attempted to Force MMS to operated under state certification. The WV Supreme Court, at much expense, and the local repution of the Campus and the "fear" that was not subsided in a Campus that had not met state standard, yet I knew we did not only meet them, and that ws the report; but we exceeded them. "My report was generated to sustain that the state was willing for us to have a formal relationship with them and sign a contract that we would "aside for our religious objectives" maintain a lever higher than expectations.
That report was never tuned in to the board. Instead, Gayle Tuned in a Ficticious and Forged Instrument of My Resignation. The Board did not accept it; and requested that I meet with them. Gayle and I had discussed her habit of "moonlighting." She housed 9 to 12 students at her Ranch House, which according to the Board of Directors Minutes and letters from the IRS and responses testamentary to the IRS, was a Corporate Owned Staff Retreat and 200 Acres Ranch for use by campus and staff, visiting parents and guests.
I have the paperwork, where It is evident, form the fact that the Secretary , Betty Lou Hartlein, retroactively "whited out" her signature from documents that do not support that claim that Gayle is Authorized to "ReClaim" the Ranch for her own home, and let students, with no staff, stay at her home over night, "to ease the load."
Shortly before leaving for Puerto Rico, I requested detailed financial reports; which were available from the State of the Ark Software and Up to Date Computers. Linda hesitantly printed them for me; and then they were incomplete. When I specifically asked for details she printed out data that showed that Gayle had been collecting 900.00 per month for every student who she was allowing to spend the night on her farm.
THE MONEY WAS CLAIMED TO BE CHILDCARE REIMBURSEMENTS. HER FOOD SUPPLIES COME FROM OUR PANTRY AND HER IN TOWN SHOPPING WAS CHARGED TO THE SCHOOL ACCOUNT. THE STUDENTS KEPT HER HORSED MUCKED, TENDED HER GARDEN, LIVED IN DILAPIDATED SLAVE QUARTERS AND WAS GIVEN TO THE SUPERVISION OF "DAVE" AN 18 YEAR OLD THAT I HAD DISCUSSED WITH HER AND DR. WILSON. HE HAD AN ORAL FIXATION SO BADLY THAT HE SUCKED HIS THUMB YET AT 18. HE NEVER WAS URGED TO COUNCIL WITH WILSON. GAYLE INSISTED THAT HE WAS AS HEALTHY AS ANY NORMAL 18 YEAR OLD.
After I asked for a job description and accepted it, It was an official declaration of the Executive Board of Directors. Gayle would not accept my offer to take 15,000.00 per month and call it salary. "The Board will never go for that" she said. "They call this moonlighting."
The truth is that Gayle had received authorization, as her vague request, to "Accept Foster, or Private intake students of children into her home; as long as it did not interfere with her MMS responsibilities. The Board did not know, any more than I, that she was taking over 120,000.00 annual in tax free "reimbursements."
I returned to West Virginia from Puerto Rico and found a Hostile Gayle Clark, holding accusations of my torturing children, but not until after I would not "just retract my resignation." "No, I said," " it will be alright, but I am not going to simply write a letter withdrawing my "false resignation."
This years of Minutes that i have from the Board is a History of Financial Woes for the School, yet there is documentation of money from all diverse organization. The academic files were actually forged and created fictitious from "memory." Organization in the institution brought out a lot of ugly information. The reconciliation of the Books, after Holley was fired, showed every dollar to be accounted for. That is why I implemented a "on campus" accountant full time and with her own Computer and office workstation.
Gayle confused board members by calling them separately telling them that "others had said this" and "the president said this" and the reason I have all the official minutes and all the photes; and the taped session between Dr Wilson and Myself and Gayle in my possession, is that he was wise beyond normal. He was blind; and Gayle could not deceive him. "He considered her dangerous." "he warned me." "When I was exploited to leave campus; more than 1/2 of the parents removed the students. Many of them came to find me, as I had opened a community center for education and recovery sciences and domestic abuse prevention, education, and advocacy and support services. This organization is now 8 years old; and its is pending changes to reflects it Global involvement and is will be published.
I suppose If I had to write all that I have discovered of the evil that that has been conspired from that 501 c3 tax exempt organization, the earth could not contain the volumes that would be written.
MMS is "in demand." "The reputation is basically unstained." Gayle's friends are subject to her demands; and she "manipulates the holy spirit."
1) 2000.00 is over twice the tuition, when I was there we operated on less than half that and was debt free, floating with almost a half million in cash on hand.
2) The corporate minutes show that when assets were received in large cash amount that the staff was "resigned."
3) Puerto Rico broke their relations with Miracle Meadows, they Knew Holley and couldn't believe the accusations. They heard me say, "I'll be back." I have been in contact.
4) Gayle stole 4 months worth of pay check from my personal mailbox on campus and negotiated to pay me only if I would leave town. I stayed in town and acquired over 10,000.00 hours in one-on-one work though the Salem Mission.
5) Even staff member that I had hired was fired when I did not expose her, but patiently waited, hoping for her to at least "amend" her relations with me.
6) I was then able to meet her family and learn history and they "today" are scared of her. Her sister, who she calls a witch," stays with her mother and lives in poverty because of the way she found her living without utilities, and in utmost poverty, not even having access to her own SS income.
7) My first year in Salem, I was despised and hated; and upon asking people, frankly why they judged me so badly, I was told frankly in return, "You're part of them folk out at that "chicken" sacrificing farm.
8) David Koresh, from, many sources of infomation, worked with Gayle prior to his gathering a group and moving into "Waco Texas."
9) There is a pattern that The Parents will hear of stages that their child will go through. You will not be able to speak with them openly; and they will not be able to tell you they are not alone on the phone. The 1st stage is the honey moon stage; and eventually the program teaches the student to manipulate their peace on campus.
10) The speak of counsel and have no resources. If your child is on medication and has serious emotional disturbances, they are likely to accept them if the money is sure and the problem are not "severe" enough to challenge the program.
11) Most paying students do not finish the program until they graduate or turn 18.
12) They may not dismiss your child for behavior, but, they will report them to the authorities and I students have been arrested and spent their time in jail and thereby removed from the campus " without the ability of campus to help th situation." One student was accused of PEEPING as a staff member, who should not have ever been on campus. She was removed however and when to the Ranch Farm for a while. She had emotional problems that were severely worsened by living in conditions that "even lost an autistic 11 year old girl for two day in the dense forest of Doddridge County. Had it been on the campus, the State would not have allowed the situation to rest.
13) The State Director of Child and Family Services was APPOINTED TO THE FEDERAL COMMISSIONERS POSITION UNDER PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH, HER DIRECT SUPERVISOR. SHE WILL RETURN TO WV AFTER HER APPOINTMENT. Twice they have Overwhelmed the State in Supreme Court with Religious Separation Jargon; which would have been fine if they really had been up to standards. They literally fled with the students in diverse vehicles and ran from the authorities. The second time of the state's investigation, FBI and Helicopters and Departmental vehicles surrounded the campus and ascended upon them from the air. It was a virtual make over of " The Waco Tragedy. "
14) Sexual promiscuity is not "stringently" a prioritized behavior where intervention is tightly secured and the "common" staff make up has not the experience; and many are naive and do not suspect such natural "teenage" and "young adult" tendencies that occur. The week that I left, over 8 reports of encounters were noted, "by staff," and "mostly settled in quite campus discipline measures."
DISCLAIMER: MY CONTINUED INTEREST IN MIRACLE MEADOWS IS DIRECTED RELATED TO THE HEALTHY CHRISTIAN EDUCATION OF SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST YOUTH. THERE ARE TO MANY DIFFICULTIES IN COMMUNICATING INFORMATION RESOURCES. IF I HAD NOT BEEN "DEMANDED" AWAY FROM CAMPUS IN TWO DAYS, ( ACTUALLY 24 HOURS BUT THEN ALL OF MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS ( NOT ALL OF THEM) AND MY DESK IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES WAS CLEARED AND EVERYTHING WAS DELIVERED DOWNTOWN SALEM; AND PUT DIRECTLY ON THE SIDE WALK.
HAD THEY ALLOWED ME TO COME AFTER MY PERSONAL ITEMS, I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THE 2000 PHOTOS, WHICH IS A REMARKABLE COLLECTIONS FOR ANY WHO ARE INTEREST IN THOSE YEARS, AND I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THE ORIGINAL PAPER COPIES OF THE MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THOSE YEARS WHERE NAMES, TRANSACTIONS, SECRET MEETINGS, AND DETAILS AND NOTE THAT EXPLAIN TO ME MOST OF THE QUESTIONS THAT I MAY NOT HAVE EVEN THOUGHT TO ASK ABOUT THE MOTIVES.
IF AMENDS HAD BEEN MADE AND GAYLE WOULD HAVE TREATED ME IN A CHRISTIAN LIKE FASHION, JUST BEING HONEST THAT SHE FELT INSECURE OF MY AUTHORITY, I WOULD HAVE PUT HER AT EASE. MATTERS ESCALATED TO THE POINT THAT I HAD TO TRAVEL 80 MILES TO GO TO CHURCH BECAUSE OF THE NEED TO AVOID HER AND THE CONFLICT THAT WOULD ARISE IF I DEFENDED MYSELF WITH THE TRUTH. BUT, GAYLE, SUFFERED FROM A LIFE OF HAVING NEVER FACED THE ATROCITIES OF HER YOUTH. I WAS VIRTUALLY SHOVED OUT OF THE CHURCH. NOT, THE TOLL GATE CHURCH, AS I FOUND, WAS BUILT AND MAINTAINED TO THE BENEFIT OF A FEW FAMILIES IN THAT AREA THAT ARE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS. THE YOUTH OF THAT CHURCH ARE THE STUDENTS AT MMS.
MANY MEMBERS CAME TO ME AND APOLOGIZED, SAYING THAT SHE HAD USED SO MANY PEOPLE AND THEN TURNED AGAINST THEM. WELL, FEAR WAS THE PROMPTING. MY SUGGESTION THAT WE STOP HER 10,000.00 MONTHLY ALLOWANCE AND REPLACE IT WITH SALARY WAS JUSTIFIABLE IN MY MIND. EVEN, I WOULD HAVE RETROACTIVE DONE SO. WHAT I DIDN'T KNOW WAS THAT THE BOARD DID NOT KNOW SHE WAS DRAWING THIS MONEY.
I HAVE WRITTEN THIS, NOT TO DISCOURAGE YOU, BUT TO TELL YOU THAT ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD. THE DAYS AT MIRACLE MEADOWS WERE ALWAYS FULL OF EVENTS. GAYLE'S EXCUSE FOR TAKING 4 MONTHS WAGES ARE OUTLINED IN THE MOST BITTER HATE LETTER THAT I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. THAT LETTER WAS WRITTEN IN THE EMOTIONAL UPSET THAT TRIGGERED THE ALARM WITH MARILYN. SHE ACTED QUICKLY WITHOUT THOUGHT AND IN HER HAND WRITING STARTS OUT THE LETTER WITH THESE WORDS, "PETER, HERE'S A HUNDRED DOLLARS, TAKE IT. IT'S CHICKEN SCRATCH TO US. AND IT'S ALL YOU ARE GOING TO GET." ........
WHEN I CAME TO MMS, THEY ARE DEAD BROKE AND BOARD VOTES WERE MADE ON NICKEL AND DIME PURCHASES. WHEN I LEFT THERE, THERE WAS WELL OVER 300,000.00 AND ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE. EVEN A YOUNG MAN, WHO GAYLE ACCEPTED, KNOWING THAT HIS ISSUES WAS LONG TIME HISTORY OF SUICIDE IDEALIZATION. WE WERE NOT SET UP FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM, BUT I WAS ABLE TO GET A RETRIED DOCTOR, WHOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH THIS YOUNG MAN WAS TRULY HEALING. THE PARENTS STARTED TO WITHDRAW HIM ONE DAY, AND IT WAS BEYOND MY UNDERSTANDING. I CONFIDENTIALLY ASKED THE FATHER, "DOES THIS HAVE ANY THING TO DO WITH MONEY."
HE WAS HUMBLE AND HONEST. "YES, PETER, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS, WE JUST CANT AFFORD IT ANY LONGER." HIS BUSINESS WAS GOING THOUGH SOME CHANGES AND HE HAD MUCH RESPONSIBILITY AND HIS FAMILIES DEDICATION TO THE CHURCH WAS UNWAIVERING.
I INSTRUCTED THE ACCOUNTANT TO FULLY SCHOLARSHIP HIM, AND TO INCLUDE THE REMAINING BALANCE. WELL, AS GOES WITHOUT SAYING, WHEN I WAS BOOTED OF CAMPUS, DR WILSON WAS ASKED NOT TO COME BACK. ( JUST AS THE SEDLACEK'S THAT FACED GAYLE WHEN SHE BROKE DOWN AND ADMITTED TO THE EVIL THAT SHE HAD CONTINUED TO DO OVER AND OVER ~ AND SHE ASKED TO START WORKING WITH THEM THE NEXT DAY. THE STAFF ~ HOLLY ~ OTHERS WERE THERE, BUT I WAS THE ONE WHO WAS UP EARLY THE NEXT MORNING AS AWAYS BEFORE THE DAWN; AND AS DAY BROKE, I SAW THEIR AUTO LEAVING. SHE HAD NOT WASTED TIME IN GETTING THEM OFF CAMPUS. SHE LEFT FOR CALIFORNIA WITHOUT SAYING BYE TO ANYONE. SHE WAS NOT GOING TO ADMIT ANY FAULT.
THIS IS PUBLISHED; AND I CANNOT HELP BUT SAY, IN PART, FOR MEMORY OF THE EXCELLENT RELATIONSHIP OF JOSH MCKENZIE AND DR WILSON, HIS COUNSELOR MAKING SUCH PROGRESS. APPS TWO YEARS LATER, JOSH COMMITTED SUICIDE IN THE FAMILY HOME. THE BILLS FOR HIS TUITION NEVER QUIT COMING FOR THE MONTHS THAT HE WAS SCHOLAR SHIPPED UNTIL AFTER HIS DEATH. WHEN I WAS RESIGNED, BY DECEIT AND EVIL DESIGN, THE ACCOUNTANT REINSTATED THE BILLS FOR MCKENZIES AND THEY KNEW IT. DR. WILSON, SENT A MESSAGE TO ME AND I MET HIM AT HIS HOTEL. HE SAID MANY TIME, "SHE LITERALLY SCARES ME PETER," "SHE IS CAPABLE OF ANYTHING." "AGAIN, LEARNING THAT PERSONAL ATTACHMENT IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN THE RESULTING "INSTITUTIONALIZATION."
I HAVE LEARNED THAT ALL MY LIFE, AND IT STARTED WITH ROLE MODELS, AND ADULTS TAKING TIME FOR PERSONAL ATTENTION WITH ME. I LOST MY FATHER AT 5 YEARS OLD. BUT, I NEVER WAS WITHOUT A FATHER. MY BROTHERS HAVE ALL SUFFERED FROM ANGER THAT WAS UNCONTROLLED AND RAGING. I INHERITED THE COMPASSION FOR THE ALL OF US. IF I'VE SHED ONE TEAR, I'VE SHED A MILLION. WHEN JOSH DIED, I REACHED CLOSURE ON CASES IN WEST VIRGINA, AS WELL AS I COULD, AND SUCCESS WAS SEEN IN EVERY ALCOHOLIC THAT WE WORKED WITH. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS WERE SUCCESSFUL IN ESCAPING THE HOME, OR IN ONE INCIDENT IN KEEPING THE HOME AND DAUGHTER WHO HER HUSBAND HAD THREATENED TO SUE AND LEAVE HER WITHOUT. MY FIRST WORDS WERE DEBRA, I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU FOUND ME, BUT YOU DID. AND, NO. HE WILL NOT GET YOU DAUGHTER, AND HE WILL NOT TAKE THE HOME. TRUST ME. DURING THE LAST YEAR, SHE GAVE OTHER THE LARGE SECLUDED COUNTRY ESTATE TO ME AND ASKED ME TO HOUSE SIT. IT WAS DURING THE MOST DEPRESSIVE TIME OF MY LIFE; AND THE SOLITUDE, HER ANIMALS THAT NEEDED CARE WHILE SHE WAS AWAY IN PHOENIX, WERE MY COMPANY.
I WAS DOWN TOWN A YEAR BEFORE I REALIZED THAT I HAD COME TO SERVE PEOPLE OF ALL TYPES AND WE "CONSTITUTIONALLY" CHARTERED WERE BOUND NOT TO LIMIT OUR MINISTRY TO ANY PURPOSE, BUT WERE ESTABLISHED AS DOMESTIC AND EDUCATIONAL AND REFERRAL, AND REHABILITATION. WE EVEN WERE BLESS WITH STUDENTS WHO SOUGHT TO RETURN TO MIRACLE MEADOWS AS STAFF, AS THAT IS HOW THEY RECRUITED MANY YOUNG STAFF, AND FOR LITTLE WAGES, WHEN STUDENTS REALIZED THAT STILL NEEDED CAMPUS THEY WOULD RETURN TO "VOLUNTEER." 5 AT LEAST CAME BACK AND ENDED UP AT THE MISSION. WE DID NOT DISSOLVE THE CORPORATION, BUT RECORDS ARE PENDING TO GIVE THE NAME A CHANGE, AGAIN, TO REFLECT OUR GREATER PURPOSE THAT THAT IS STRETCHING INTO GLOBAL REGIONS. RELIGION WAS NEVER THE CENTER OF OUR PURPOSE; OUR ROOTS MAY BE FIRMLY GROUNDED BUT IN SUFFERING WITH THOSE WHO SUFFER WE LEARNED THE NEED THAT MOTIVATED US TO GATHER RESOURCES. WEST VIRGINIA, IN DODDRIDGE AND HARRISON COUNTY WAS THE 2 MOST AT RISK COUNTIES IN THE UNITED STATES. MEETING THE NEEDS OF SO MANY FOR SO LONG, LEFT ME DRAINED.
