The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Jeff Harmon during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases towards Missouri Wind and Solar.

Missouri Wind and Solar provides its customers with a variety of renewable and alternative energy sources since 2007. Additionally, they offer a wide range of off-grid energy products including solar panels, heating units, energy-efficient appliances, batteries, alternators, and generators. Jeff Harmon stated the following about the vision of his company, "to advise and provide the correct renewable energy systems or component to mainly the do-it-yourself consumer. Our vision for the future is to maintain an understanding of current renewable energy products and to continue developing our own products to provide to our customers."

Leads for Missouri Wind and Solar are primarily obtained through customer referral and online marketing, "we maintain an active YouTube channel with happy customer videos, demonstrations, DIY videos, and a beginners series." Missouri Wind and Solar has multiple selling platforms which allow it to be flexible for the buyer experience. They sell through online stores including Amazon, eBay, as well as a brick-and-mortar store that is open to the public. Mr. Harmon stated, "more self-guided DIY customers can opt to use online channels for quick purchases, but we also encourage customers to call us and tell us their goal with off-grid or grid-tied alternative energy projects. Our sales team will tailor a system, or individual components to match what the customer is trying to achieve. We readily send out manuals, diagrams, videos, instructions, etc. to make sure the information is easy to understand and install."





CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION – MISSOURI WIND AND SOLAR

During the onsite interview Mr. Harmon was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Mr. Harmon expressed that occasionally a customer state that the product doesn't work, and they want to return the item. When a situation like this arises, "our sales staff will contact that customer to find out what the problem is with the part. Often, it is just a matter of sending more information to the customer on how to use the product, or to exchange the part with a component more suited to their project. We don't just write it off as a return request, but really try to help troubleshoot the issue to achieve what the customer really wants, which is a working system." Mr. Harmon additionally stated, "the majority of the time, we are able to solve the issue without having to return or refund the entire system. The customer is ultimately happy that they can get up and running on their project, rather than having to start from scratch."

When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Harmon stated the following, "we strongly feel that the majority of complaints on Ripoff Report against our company are competitors trying to manipulate search results and ruin our company reputation." He additionally stated, "we can provide extensive legal documentation on cases against a select few individuals who have endeavored to defame the reputation of our company."

When asked what type of changes they have made to honor their commitment to make things right with the consumer per the request of Ripoff Report, Mr. Harmon stated, "we have improved our selling platforms--we've upgraded our website to our own dedicated server and made ourselves more accessible to the customer."

Hey, just wanted you guys to be warned about buying from Missouri Wind and Scam.  Over the phone they advertised a "American made PMA" which was exactly what I was looking for.  After finding out that they were just imported I asked to return the generator for a refund.  They said that I'd have to pay for return shipping despite their false advertising. 

The generator itself was sub-par but I didn't expect much.  Just to charge a battery.  It had to get very windy in order for the battery to get any charge.  I also asked about this and was told some lie about making sure the generator is facing a certain direction and to make sure the pole was properly tied down.  One other thing, one of the blades fell off after a week and landed upright sticking into the ground. It could have killed my dog or my wife or me!

I just feel the generator wasn't of high quality, they lied to me to get me to buy it to begin with, the blades are VERY dangerous and they are penny pinching on return shipping when called out on their false advertising.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted a ripoff / scam report but I fell that they are running a scam by false advertising what their product does and just telling people what they want to hear to get people to buy their stuff...

Missouri Wind and Solar Rip-Off and Fraud

Allow me to add my name to a very very long list of those who were ripped off by Missouri Wind & Solar. I also have turned Jeff into the attorney general and BBB. Here is my story in a nut shell. I spent $1700 on 2 wind turbines...they caused $4000 in damage to my communications equipment. Neither turbine produced anywhere near the 800watts they claimed and I have the charts to prove it. The first Turbine literately self destructed (I got Pics), we found parts over 300 feet from the tower it was on. The second Turbines charge controller stuck in the load dump mode almost causing catastrophic system failure. We have sense removed all the MW&S JUNK from our system!!

As per MW&S web site, I called to get an RMA. The site says that an RMA is required for returns, if you don't have an RMA and you return the product anyways, you will be charged storage fees. I was refused an RMA.

.......What kind of customer service is that? Instead of backing he product, Jeff (CEO MW&S) put the blame back on me for his Product going bad (I have emails to prove it).

On the intact second unit I have measured the turbine blades for consistent density, weight and balance. It appears that MW&S does not bother to balance its Turbine blades. When I talked to Jeff about this fact he insisted that my 30+ years in mechanical design experience was wrong and that his equipment could not be flawed. Really Jeff, are you that arrogant?

DO YOUR HOMEWORK and investigate before you buy a wind turbine. There are some really awesome units out there but I found that none of them were from MW&S. For my business, I finally settled on a VAWT that produces 3-4 times its rating.

False Ripoff Report

You state that the Missouri Wind and Solar PMA for your turbine is made in China, that is untrue. They are assembled here in Seymour, MO in our shop(We show them being assembled here in our shop on a video on our website). We do not sell imported wind turbines. We have seen a number of anonymous reports (a concerted effort by some of our competitors who will not or cannot produce a quality product) popping up all over claiming these are cheap inported turbines. We do not offer any imported turbines at all. If you look on youtube you will see our blades are made here in the US and are very tough, we have drove over them with a forklift and shot them with a 9mm pistol and the blade was still intact. We cannot say the same for our competitors recycled blades, they shattered when struck by a bullet.

There are two sellers on EBay that have advertised or still advertise used Missouri Wind and Solar wind turbines that are not our products. They use their own returned parts and paint the blades to look like ours, but they are truly cheap knock offs! The two who sell on EBay are qaz661 and aeq007, if you compare what we show on our videos to what they are selling you will see the difference. If indeed you are telling the truth, you could have posted an invoice # or authentic paperwork. We do have a store on EBay, it is raptor417, go there if you want to buy the real thing.

Show me photos of your turbine and we will see if it is ours or a cheap knock off from somewhere else. Hiding behind an anonymous name is not reporting a ripoff, it is committing a fraud by making false statements. Show me the invoice from Missouri Wind and Solar, blank out your personal information, we will be able to identify you by the invoice # and we can tell you if it was ours or not.

Why is there no name or handle to identify the person who has made the complaint. Most folks who feel they have a complaint would leave at least their first name and last initial, I have when I have made complaints. If there is a true problem we try very hard to make sure we have covered all the bases and make sure that the customer has built the turbine properly and connected everything properly. We are a do it yourself supply and cannot be responsible for a customer doing a poor job.
