I hadn't even heard of this agency until I checked my transaction history and found an unauthorized transaction by them. I have never received a phone call, or letter, or had any interaction with these... people. Yet, there it was, a payment somehow taken from my card to Mnet Financial.

Considering this was, AGAIN (because I really cannot stress this enough), a completely unauthorized transaction; made without any notification; with neither my permission or knowledge; on behalf of person or company unknown; I'm pretty sure this is, at best, juuust skirting the line of legally acceptable practice for collection agencies. I'm looking into it.

Maybe they thought I wouldn't notice because it isn't a large transaction, but yeah, I did; and I'm pissed.

Next time you try to collect, at least attempt to have ethics, and don't commit credit card fraud. I'm disputing payment.

And if it turns out this is anywhere left of legal, my attorney is going to have a ball with you.

It is wise for you to regularly check your transaction history in your credit card statement because you are absolutely correct when you state that unethical organizations willingly commit credit card fraud and if this were to happen to you; you should be upset.  However, Mnet Financial does not conduct business in such a way.

Mnet Financial is a collection agency that only works with healthcare providers.  Because we only work with the patients of our healthcare clients, we have a very different, patient-friendly, approach to collections than a typical collection agency would.

That being said, if you currently have an account, or multiple accounts in certain circumstances, that are held with Mnet Financial, you should question whether you, or someone from your immediate family has recently had a medical treatment, procedure, or surgery in an ambulatory surgery center or outpatient hospital.

Another key consideration is that Mnet Financial does not have access to the credit card information of a patient unless that information has been supplied to us or the medical provider by the patient themselves.  Since this is the case, there are a few specific scenarios that could account for a debit coming from your credit card.

My suggestion to you, Aisiah, would be to contact Mnet Financial and explain the situation to one of our collection agents or feel free to ask for myself, Dave.  This doesn’t sound like a clerical error but if it is, Mnet would, of course, rectify the situation for you.  Because we have access to your credit card information and the amount debited, as you mentioned, “isn’t a large transaction,” it is most likely that you set up a monthly draft with us either directly or through the original medical provider.

No matter what the case, we would welcome the opportunity to work with you to get to the bottom of the issue and resolve it.  Please give us a call at 888-816-5944 so that we can look into this matter for you.
