Beware: Sales pitchman (Frank Bonamigo-from Boston) gives you low estimate roof repair without actually measuring square roof area.  After job is completed, owner (Jeremy Molinar) comes with extra fees based on his assesment of what he calls actual roof materials used.  He'll show you receipts of extra material but you can't verify if they actually used them or not since you are not familiar with work.  Make sure you don't pay this company until after ALL work is done, i.e., roof shingles, vents, flashing, and cleaning your yard from debries, including nails on your yard, etc.  Better yet, don't sing contract until you see someone actually measuring your roof square feet area; that way your contract will be legal to your advantage.

Molinar Construction Stands Fair to Consumer

AUTHOR: hoss - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, June 30, 2011

Two weeks ago, I wrote the original complaint based on two facts: #1 the final payment was higher than quoted on the initial visit, and #2 a metal flashing was missing after completion of the roof.

Since then, I have exchanged correspondence with the owner of Molinar Construction who was not aware of either fact.

After discussing my complaints, he notified me that the actual material and labor were higher because the actual roof's square footage was greater than what I was quoted by the sales pitchman.  Apparently the sales pitchman did not measure the roof's at the time of the initial visit.  Instead, he asked me what was the total square footage of my house and used that figure to determine the roof's square footage.  Shortly after he was dismissed by the owner.

As for the second complaint two workers were immediately sent to installed the flashing but for unknown reasons, they laid it down on one of the roof's valley were it was hidden for a whole month.  Since then he has made changes to his working crew to prevent similar occurences in the future.

Both of his actions demonstrated to me his concern for the consumer standing by his company.  Furthermore, he personally installed the "missing" metal flashing and negotiated the extra fees for material and labor.  The new roof looks very nice.
