Monitronics Auto Renewal Rip off. I was promised the payments would drop but they went up. They won't let me cancel. Dallas Texas

I am just another victim of Monitronics auto renewal rip off. I was promised when I purchased the system that the monthly payments would drop to 9.95 after the first two years. The payments didn't go down, they actually went up. I called and complained.

Monitronics sent me a new contract for 15.95 for three years. After researching the internet and finding several companies that offer service for 9.95, I called Monitronics and requested to terminate my service. I was informed that my contract had Auto-renewed until 2005. My only options were to sign the new contract for three years or continue to pay 31.00 a month for the remainder of the two year extension. I was told if I stopped paying them, they would simply send the account to a collection agency and harm my credit rating.
