Ireceived my monthly statement today from a credit card company.
A charge of 199.99 was made to my account on May 15th., that i did not authorize.
I have never heard of this myfamilyancestry, and have never required their services, if they really exist. I have no knowledge of how they could have gotten my card no. and charged this amount.
I am contacting my credit card company to find out more, if I can. I will no longer use my computer to order any merchandise from any company whatsoever from now on and I am requesting that my card number be changed or be issued anew.
My family has used the net to order merchandise and also to look up geneology, but will discontinue this practice from now on.
This is a shame, and I hope these idiots are found and prosecuted. Thank you.

My Family.com Inc /Ancestry.com is an on-line genealogy company. Their toll free number is 1-800-262-3787.
They have a "free 2 week trial" that is not so free sometimes. It requires a credit/debit card ti get access to most of the databases. Only problem is you must call the 800 number (no emails) at least 2 days before the end of the free trial or they will charge the card.
Did someone in your family follow one of their thousands of links and sign up for a free trial without your knowkedge? Otherwise how fid they get your credit card number. Contacting your bank is a good idea.
You might try the 800 number above and if you get no satisfactiopn there, dispute the charge with your bank. After you settle this I would suggest you get a new card number.
