I was solicited by this company yesterday and immediately jumped online to see who they were. I also checked ripoffreports.com to see if there were any claims against them.

Here is what they promised:
-To get me top dollar for my car (well on the high end of what it is worth in the open market)
-Cars normally sell within 90days and if it doesn't sell they will classify as a premium listing on their web site until it sells
-8 million people circulation (if you look on cars.com, it says 8 million shoppers- seems as if they pulled it from there)

Here is what they asked:
-$499 up front (not after selling the car)
-Credit Card number over the phone - no online secure payment offered - they claimed it was not safe

Here is what I found:
-Their ebay rating was in the 60's....if they are as big as they say, it would easily be in the thousands (they claim ebay is their main selling source too)
-3 additional reports on ripoffreports.com claiming foul play
-They were dropped from the Nevada Better Business Bureau because of so many complaints
-They couldn't furnish a good reason for how they found me or why they chose my car over the hundreds in my city - When people call you, it is likely to be fraudulent

My thoughts:
-They take your money, promise you a high return for your car - then when the car doesn't sell because of the high price and their lowly efforts to sell your car, you are out the money - no refunds

I leave it to you all to decide what to do. I did not accept their service personally and can't say that I was defrauded. However, my advice is to sell it yourself and be patient. You can get a good amount from just waiting for the right buyer to come along. GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT.

Ex-Employee Knows Tells All About OSM Scam

AUTHOR: Ross - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 02, 2006

Folks -

I "worked" for Robert Wilder, aka Rob Thomas, aka Tim Giffey, for several months in early 2005. The experience was eye-opening to say the least.

My job was multi-faceted. For one, I was customer service along with a guy named Tom Rothrock. From my first week at OSM, Wilder, suspicious of Rothrock's motivations, asked me to serve as an informant on his actions.

Customer service at OSM worked like this: Customer calls. Customer complains. Customer service rep hems and haws, pretending to care. Customer wants refund. Customer doesn't get refund. Ever.

My other duty at OSM was to maintain the company's vehicles for sale on eBay. I did this job for about six weeks or so. Only one vehicle ever hit its reserve -- and the buyer ended up being a deadbeat bidder. I was blamed.

On dozens of occassions, I passed the telephone to Robert Wilder, as disgusted customers wanted to speak to a supervisor. Wilder claimed to be a man by the name of Rob Thomas, and proceded to say whatever was needed to pacify the customer. This included many, many lies.

When I finally had enough of this mockery of a business, I went to Robert Wilder and told him I couldn't take the lying and deceit anymore. After mutually agreeing that it was in my best interest to leave the "company," Mr. Wilder, over the next few days, left several disturbing messages on my cell phone. These included threats to my life, as well as mentions of "kicking my Jewish a*s." Classy.

Hope this sheds some light on the sham of a business Mr. Wilder runs in Las Vegas. Good luck to all of you who get caught in his web of lies and bull.

Nevada Law requires OSM to have a DEALERS LICENSE!

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 29, 2006

This is how you beat these fools! The business license means nothing at all.

Nevada Law is clear on this, and they are just lucky that no one has pushed the issue and filed the appropriate complaints with appropriate government agency located at 555 N Washington blvd. in Las Vegas.

Under Nevada Law, anyone who sells, or holds their services out for a fee in the assistance of selling a vehicle is required to have a DEALERS LICENSE, and is required to be BONDED.

OSM is engaging in outright fraud, by claiming they are only in the advertising business. This is simply not the case. As soon as their reps on the phone say "we can sell your car" they need a dealers license. Under the license they have, they are only allowed to say " we can advertise your car".

And, as an advertiser, you would not offer financing or shipping. These are things that a DEALER would do.

I have heard the speel first hand from these theives. They do, in fact represent themselves as a DEALER. Never once do they use the word ADVERTISE. They use the word SELL.

Rob Wilder and Tim Giffey, you are operating ILLEGALLY and you know it. One Stop Motors is a scam, and that is a proven fact. And it is obvious that National Auto Shopper is another one of your scam operations. Just like all the rest ie: MotorZoo, etc.

You are busted. Get over it.

business license

AUTHOR: Withheld - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 29, 2006

For One Stop Motors there were 3 previous license numbers that show a status of out of business. Why is that? OSM reopened the current license on 7/11/05. I found it interesting that National Auto Shopper filed on 7/26/05, just 12 business days later, in the same city. There license # is A02-02162 just one digit off from OSM. I thought that was a little strange.

I'll keep digging and get back with my findings

#8 UPDATE EX-employee responds

I challenge your lies

AUTHOR: Coburg - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 24, 2006

--------------------------------------
"The TRUTH is after researching and attempting to contact the alleged customers on this site, we have found many of the "customer" names do not exist in our data base. We surmise that they are previous vengeful, manipulative employees that have been released from OSM for just cause."
--------------------------------------
I doubt you did as you said but I can't say for sure. Whatever though, many people, myself included don't use our real name on the internet. There is no need to put our names out there. Our goal is to expose sleeze. You have a public name and it is to your advantage to put your name here.

As for previous vengeful, manipulative employees writing the complaints, most former employees at OSM's wouldn't know how to write much past their name. Many are convicted felons and high school dropouts...not all, but most. I happily identified myself as a former employee and see no reason why other former employees wouldn't also do so.

---------------------------------------
"This is a company that believes firmly in doing things ethically. WE DO NOT "RIP PEOPLE OFF"!"
-----------------------------------------
I say bull****! Everything that I saw and experienced at OSM's points towards a company that depends on ripping people off. You DO RIP PEOPLE OFF!
-------------------------------------

"I welcome you to view our web site and our 40,000 plus buyers and sellers who are currently listed with our program."
--------------------------------------
Sounds impressive. Can you let us know how many of those are buyers and how many are sellers? Can you also let us know how many of those customers are happy? To be fair, I know you do have satisfied customers. To be fair, I also know that you have far more unsatisfied customers than any other business I have ever had contact with.

-------------------------------------
"OSM believes that "Steve" has managed to post a great majority of these complaints and accusations listed on Rip off Report. These accusations have NO truth or substance whatsoever."
-------------------------------------
Really! Everything I have seen Steve write is in fact true. I'd happily take a lie-dector test on it. Would you? I didn't think so. You also state you believe just a couple of individuals are responsible for most of the complaints written here.

I worked at OSM's for two weeks and will testify that I talked to a lot of very unhappy OSM's customers in that time. I have the names of several that I wrote down my last few days at OSM's. Incidently, they have proven to be quite useful.

If anybody doesn't believe Steve or me though, all you have to do is buy a copy of "Trader" magazine. Start calling those with vehicles for sale. Try to call people with vehicles in the $10,000+ range. Mention OSM's to them and you are sure to soon find customers who have been ripped off and are very unhappy customers.

--------------------------------------------
"It's extremely disheartening to have disgruntled former employees attempt to lie about a company that they had a chance at being successful with and at with their decision chose to make poor choices that put their jobs in jeopardy. I invite and challenge any former employee of OSM to contact me directly to address any issue that they might have, as you well know, I am always willing to discuss things in a PROFESSIONAL manner."
-------------------------------------------
Disheartening huh? Somehow I doubt your words.

Uh, remember that I did contact you directly in a very professional matter. It was OSM's, the chief salesman there that kicked me out of the building because "former employees weren't allowed in the OSM's property." It was me who was professional. It was OSM's who was unprofessional.
There was no apology from you for his very unprofessional actions, NONE whatsoever.

Whatever though, I have every reason to believe that most of these reports are from unsatisfied customers, not former employees. I am one of the exceptions.

Larry, you are right. Tim giffey and Robert Wilder are the same

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 20, 2006

Larry,

I have seen this type of "coincidence" in many posts regarding One Stop Motors.

The other one is that "Tim Giffey" usually signs his rebuttals as GENERAL MANAGER, then he sometimes signs it as CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Well, Tim, which is it? Did you get demoted?

Furthermore the writing style and spelling, etc. between Rob Wilder and Tim Giffey are VERY similar and indicate they are the same person, or one pretending to be the other.

Also, MotorZoo usa has much of the same info and web registry as One Stop Motors.

The same people running many similar scams.

Response to "Tim Giffey" or Rob Wilder or whomever you really are

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 20, 2006

One Stop Motors defender, whomever you are,

First of all, I lived in Las Vegas for 7 years and know all about your scam. I also know people who used to work for your various scam operations.

Second, you DO rip people off, as you do not actually offer anything in return for the huge fees you charge.

AND, since you do not actually have any kind of physical publication, there is no real advertising of any kind being offered. Furthermore, according to the provisions of Nevada Revised Statutes and Nevada Administrative Code, you actually need a Dealer's License to legally do what you are doing. A business license does not cut it, and if I filed a complaint with the division of licensing, you would lose that too.

Whenever you charge a fee for services to aid in the selling of a car and/or financing assistance, shipping assistance, etc. You need a dealers license. You claim to be in the "advertising" business, but you have no publication! How, EXACTLY do you advertise anything?

Tell me, EXACTLY what publication do you have and what is your circulation of that alleged publication? I have seen your website, and it is crap, just like your ethics and business practices.

You simply harvest names/phone numbers from LEGITIMATE automotive sales publications, newspapers, etc. and then call these people who have paid to advertise in these legitimate publications, and attempt to sell your "services" to them. But you have no actual service that does anything for any customer.

You use online auctions and a self replicating website template to build a "custom website" that nobody will ever see unless you send them the link! It is vehicle specific and the exact car must be searched for. Totally useless. No buyer can browse available vehicles to find what they want.

And, I have heard the sales pitch myself of your idiotic sales reps. And, they don't know how to take no for an answer. Multiple calls per day, and multiple requests to cease calling me.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. And, I know who you are.

Am I the only one who saw this?

AUTHOR: Larry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 20, 2006

The person who filed the rebuttal claims to be Robert Wilder, CEO of OSM in the body of his message. But Rip Off Report automatically adds the person's name to the end of messages. Suddenly, Robert becomes Tim. So, is it Tim pretending to be Robert or is it really Robert who also calls himself Tim?

Well, if he can do it so can I.

#2 REBUTTAL Owner of company

RESPONCE TO "IMRAN Bellaire, Texas" and "Steve Bradenton, Florida"

AUTHOR: Tim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 19, 2006

Hello,

My name is Rob Wilder. I am the owner and founder of OSM.
I would like to take this opportunity to help resolve the accusations posted on RipOffReport.com from the parties above.

OSM is one of the nations leading online private party vehicle advertisers. We strive to assist both sellers and buyers in making the best decision possible when buying or selling a vehicle.

This is a company that believes firmly in doing things ethically. WE DO NOT "RIP PEOPLE OFF"! The majority of the comments listed on this website are not only false but they have zero truth to them whatsoever.

If you are a potential customer and wish to find out the TRUTH about OSM, most the comments posted on this web site are false statements and have zero truth to them. I will explain why this is in more detail below.

I welcome you to view our web site and our 40,000 plus buyers and sellers who are currently listed with our program. At our website you can view our testimonials, as well as find all of our contact information to our Customer Service Department telephone numbers. I encourage you to contact our Customer Service Department where anyone in that Department would be very happy to discuss any concerns that you might have.

The TRUTH is OSM has attempted to resolve each and every complaint on this Rip Off website. We have attempted to contact all alleged dissatisfied customers by phone and or email. Most of the issues have been resolved. The resolution has been through a refund or OSM assisting in the sale of their vehicle. WE DO NOT EVER wish to have a dissatisfied customer.

The TRUTH is after researching and attempting to contact the alleged customers on this site, we have found many of the "customer" names do not exist in our data base. We surmise that they are previous vengeful, manipulative employees that have been released from OSM for just cause. These employees would not be eligible for rehire. They were dismissed for good reason and their character is in pattern with the actions that they have chosen to take on this website. This is their only legal way of getting even with a company that they were released from for good reason.

For example, "Steve" in Bradenton, FL claims OSM changed its name to "National Auto Shopper". This accusation can simply be explained by visiting our homepage at and going to our About Us page. There you will find our City of Las Vegas Business licensee's number which can be checked with the city to find that OSM is not associated with National Auto Shopper in any way what so ever. This will clear up that Steve's accusations are false very plain and simply.

"Imran in Bellaire, Texas" refers to "National Auto Shopper" in his complaint. He says nothing in regards to OSM. OSM's services DO NOT compare to National Auto Shopper. Our services are farr more superior. The fact that this complaint was posted under OSM's name is completely inaccurate and further proves that the comments on this web site are falsely misrepresented and have little credible evidence showing otherwise. AGAIN, we are in no way associated with National Auto Shopper and DO NOT wish to be associated with this company what so ever!

OSM believes that "Steve" has managed to post a great majority of these complaints and accusations listed on Rip off Report. These accusations have NO truth or substance whatsoever. OSM is in NO WAY related to National Auto Shopper or any Las Vegas "scam". OSM's business rapport is built strictly on integrity and credibility with companies such as Deals on Wheels, eBay Motors, GreatVehicles.com, etc. This is a company that works extremely hard to maintain a reputation that has integrity and professionalism.

We suspect that 2 or more individuals, such as "Steve Bradenton, in Florida" are posting negative comments under different user names and accounts in their spare time. (I ask that Rip Off Report please be aware of this as well.)

I welcome anybody who has questions, comments pertaining to RipOffReport.com or any interest in our program to buy or sell a vehicle to personally contact me or my customer service department directly. Anyone that has unfortunately been directed to this website, I am hoping has a good business sense and can see how this confusion was created.

It's extremely disheartening to have disgruntled former employees attempt to lie about a company that they had a chance at being successful with and at with their decision chose to make poor choices that put their jobs in jeopardy. I invite and challenge any former employee of OSM to contact me directly to address any issue that they might have, as you well know, I am always willing to discuss things in a PROFESSIONAL manner. I will always do my absolute best to ensure that all issues are resolved and handled properly.

Respectfully,
Robert Wilder
