I took my car to Nationwide Transmission, of Fayetteville, NC, for a diagnostic on my transmission, of which I was a quoted $49 (although they advertise FREE TRANSMISSION DIAGNOSIS). Blake Lunsford (Owner) called to inform me that they could not make the determination by the the machine they would have to dismantle my transmission in order to find out cause of failure(DIAGNOSIS), but would need my signature in order to do so. When I went in to sign the service order the price had went from $49 to over $600, of which I was told and it is stated in the order that it would go towards the final cost of repair, but this was not true it was included along with the labor/parts. The total costs for the Transmission rebuild was $3032.46.  Mr. Lunsford never informed me verbally nor in writing the exact cause of failure, so that I may be able to get a second opinois.

When I requested a few days to figure out how I was going to come up with the payment, Blake Lunsford told me I had 2 days, became very irate and I was later told that if I did not come in to sign the service order that he was going to call NC and claim abandonment(although I had signed 1 document). Once the other order was signed in order to get my vehicle repaired he began to demand a date for vehicle pickup and payment or once again he was going to call NC and claim abandoment, reminded me regularly that he was running a business and asked me about military affiliation on several occasions.

I paid Nationwide Transimission, in full, for services renderded with a personal check. Mr. Lunsford took the check without questions and made a note of the check # and amount on my receipt. The next day Blake called and demanded a certified check because he knows that I don't have that amount of money in my account. I told Blake that I was not going to get a certified check because the check he had was valid. It is not only discriminatory in nature but demeaning to imply that because I'm black that I we are known to write bad checks. Blake Lunsford told me that if I did not get a certified check that he would not return my vehicle to me and would claim abandonment. It is not advertised on the inside of business methods of payments that are excepted, nor in service orders. Plus it is advertised on YP online that it is an acceptable form of payment. He kept my car for an additional 2 weeks after receiving a valid payment and did not complete the work that was promised.

Blake Lunsford of Nationwide Transmission is a bully, racist, uses people's weaknesses and need for him against them and conducts fraudulent business practices. DISHONEST, LIAR, RACIST!!!

Mr. Lunsford,

As stated in my previous rebuttal, I respectfully asked you to refrain from making any contact with me whatsever, including on this website. Once again, I am issuing a cease and desist. If you continue this form of harassment, I will have no choice but to file a formal complaint in a court of law, asking for damages, not only on false advertising but defamation of character as well. If the claims you make cannot be justified, nor proven to be true, you are committing an illegal act and violating the order.

I will no longer tolerate this form of disrespect and character assassination. The very least you can do, when you address me, is to attempt to have the appearance that you have some sort of intellect. Use Spellcheck. Your multiple mispelled words and lack of rhetoric (that means the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing;eloquence) portrays ignorance and possibly anger. Someone who has a lack of control of their emotions;easily angered. Do not contact me again. By phone, on this website, by email or any other manner or I will commence a lawsuit. Your communication is causing undue duress and stress.

Once again Blake you feel the need to dispute/challenge allegations against you that are not the only complaint on the Internet regarding your shady business practices. If you were innocent of my allegations you would not feel a need to address them. Why? Because it would be a waste of time and your business and the brand that was built should be able to stand on its own. But one thing I do know, is, I'm not going to allow you or anyone else to slander my name just to make yourself look good. I know the truth, you know the truth and God knows the truth. You are a liar and cheat people out of their money charging 1000s of dollars over your competitors. I paid what was owed, when it was owed with a check in MY NAME. It was you who chose to question if I, an African American Woman, had the means and ways to have that much money available. If you go on here and continue making theses false claims, I will have no choice but to file a suit in small claims court. So at this point you are to cease and desist making any and all claims against me.

Just an ugly situation

AUTHOR: B. Lunsford - (United States of America)

Ms. Swan did indeed bring her vehicle in for what turned out to be major repairs. We performed all of the repair steps just as we do for all vehicles requiring major repairs. These procedures were developed years ago by different consumer protection agencies in order to avoid just this situation.

I have nothing negative to say in any way about this customer. Normally a vehicle like hers takes 2-3 days start to finish. Hers was here for several days while we waited for approval for repairs, money, and decisions. Those circumstances happen often and we're accustomed to it due to the nature of my business. There were no problems with this transaction either until it came time to pay for the repairs and pick up the vehicle. She didn't have the money, even after sceduling a date for completion.

When she finally did come up with most of the money, it was in the form of a third party check, which we do not accept. I agreed to take her check with the stipulation that it had to clear my bank before she could have her vehicle. Well as it turned out there were no funds in the account to cover the check. So I refused that one and any further checks. Since that time our policy is no checks of any kind, as we have plenty of dishonored checks already. The city of Fayetteville will not prosecute check fraud, so I don't accept them anymoe as I have no way to enforce payment. And there in lies the entire problem.

No business can survive while practicing what I'm accused of. I urge anyone reading this rebuttal to check our google reviews, go to our website for dozens more, most with customer photos, and make up your own mind. I've attempted to rectify this situation but I cannot get a response from the customer. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Blake
