In December we signed on with NEPA via Esther Lucia-Shuba. She had us sign a contract to use NEPA as our merchant service and to use Lease Source Inc. (Melville, NY) for our credit card machine. We asked her several times what were the total costs of this business should we decide that we cannot make a 'go' of it. She assured us that we would only have to pay $250. Esther lied-- you have two buyouts. If you buy out the first year, you must pay $350. If you use their merchant services for a year you can pay $250 to buy out-- by this time they already have charged you $35/mth for 12 month.

We found out much later that you must also buy out of the credit card machine contract-- $4500!!

About 2 months into this deal we realized as a previous Rip-Off report member stated about NMEIS, that there is a dizzying array of names and schemes involved to assure that we not only were not successful, but that we would be under contract to pay them monthly for NOT being able to sell. They charge our bank acct. $35 every month that we make no sales!

Esther promised us that they were so certain we would be successful that they would refund us the first 3 months lease payments if we submitted the paperwork. We have spent the past 3 months trying to get them to reimburse us. Finally, yesterday after faxing them the information everyday for the past 2 weeks, they decided to stop pretending that they had not received all or part of our fax.

We also found out that the Lease Source contract had NO ESCAPE clause-- despite the fact that Esther lied to us that it did. Buyer beware! We were told that certain paragraphs included provisions that we never saw. We asked them in many emails to email us both sides of this 'contract' but they kept lying and saying they were going to send them.

Finally, after our bank account was debited a different amount every month for various bogus reasons, we decided to take out a loan for $4500 to pay off the lease on what we found out was only a $200 machine at best. As a previous member mentioned, it was useless to us and not compatible with any other merchant service. They insisted that they would take legal action against us if we tried to close our bank account to prevent them from debiting our account for these bogus fees. Lease Source Inc is a fraudulant company which specializes in selling unsuspecting victims machines that have no means of buyout or use.

In the end, they told us that if we paid all 46 remaining payments up front, they would let us out of the contract. We told them we had already paid 3 months of the 48 months, yet they insisted on charging us for 46, and they refused to mail us a copy of the contract that showed that they had the right to charge us various fees and penalties as they saw fit.

Now we are out $4500, and we still have not sold one item on our 'webstore.' They kept sending us usesless lists of 'dropshippers', all of which had either non-working websites or they would require you to write for price lists or just had junk.

They also did not mention additional costs like domain name purchase and url forwarding costs. I have been trying to switch my domain name from them to a reputable company, and they refuse to answer my emails so that I can get the authorization number necessary for changing my domain name holder.

Finally, NEPA/NMEIS do not tell you that just because you build a webstore, it does not mean people will come. You should register with search engines (something we found out on our own), you must have a sitemap for Google to find you(something they do not provide). They tell you that all you need to do is sell some items on ebay and this will drive traffic to your site. This is a lie! Ebay does not even allow you to place your webstore address in your ebay ads. If you do and you get caught, you can be suspended.

So, NEPA/NMEIS has a scam running where they have you sign 2 contracts: one that will cost you $4500 to get out of , and another that you have to pay $350 to get out of. This scam also involves them having you sign a lease with Lease Source Inc., whereby you have to pay $89 for 4 years. We found out later that we could have opened a business acct with our local bank and got the machine for free! Some banks charge $200. No long-term contracts!

NEPA & NMEIS & Esupport must make a bundle from the fraudulent deals they make in conjunction with Lease Source Inc. and their mafioso tactics. We still can't afford to buy out of the $350 merchant contract because we had to take our loans to pay off the lease. We have not only not made money, we have been devastated by the losses caused by NMEIS and their all their AKA companies. I wish we had never stumbled into the clutches of these crooks.

Something that may be of interest to you

AUTHOR: Penni - (U.S.A.)

I found this in yahoo answers:

Generally, contracts do not have to have a recission period. Courts will look to all the provisions within the contract, and then look to the intent of the parties. It depends on what kind of contract it is, what the circumstances were when you entered into the contract, whether you had opportunity to understand all the terms, etc. You have to state why you entered into the contract in the first place. If you suspect fraud (blatant misrepresentation, hiding the facts, bullying, etc) WHEN the contract was entered into, then you may sue them to cancel the contract. However, it sounds like you already performed your part of the contract. If they haven't performed at all, you can sue for damages. If you want definite answers, get a free consultation with a lawyer on whether or not you have a case. They'll be able to tell you with more details, and your conversation will be confidential.

I have been scammed by this same company. Can you please let me know any outcomes on this? I am not far from you -- a little north of Beaumont. I would be glad to correspond with you over this -- by e-mail or phone. maybe we can find some others who have had problems with them. They are a new company -- formed in Oct 2006.

NEPA MERCHANT SERVICES SENT ME A VOIDED CHECK!!

AUTHOR: Yoshika - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 18, 2007

In my previous report I stated that NEPA had finally agreed to pay for the 3 month Lease Source as they had promised. I have emails from them stating that they had refunded the amounts, after repeatedly denying having received our faxes. Now they sent me the check that they promised with the words VOIDED for reporting them to the Rip Off Report. They stated that they have the right to renig on their contract now because I reported their shady business practices to the public via this site!

They still expect to hold me to my part of the contract-- paying them $35 per month for using their 'services' even though they voided their part by sending me a voided check.

This action further proves that they are unscrupulous. Rather than addressing the issues I have reported. They decide to take yet another unscrupulous step in proving that no one shoud do business with them! BUYER BEWARE!!
