I have posted an ad to Elance saying, we have an emergency task to install VPN and do some NAT redirections on CentOS server.
Yogesh Gupta from Network Labs India responded right away, giving a full text of expertise and experience that they have. So I thought OK - it took previously couple of hours to set everything up for previous russian guys, considering the experiences of these guys, it should be no difference.
So I contacted Gupta, explaining the tasks - he said its not a problem at all - thats their daily job.
The project was awarded, I sent details to Yogesh Gupta from Network Labs India to review the things before I get online. He said, that its really great, he will review and let me know.
So, I got back online to verify the work, before he said he needs to go for dinner for 2h and then he wil be available for next 6 hours. if its OK? 2,5 hours later I came online to verify how is the work going - he goes "i was about to go to sleep" - "client had DDOS attach, so he had to overwork" (at a dinner table place?). Anyway I said that its an emergeny task. Dont forget - these guys charges 40,00$/hour + Elance 10% fee so $44.00/hour and in india, where monthly salary is around 600 USD.
He added up - that he also has his own schedule as well, removed me from Skype, sent a "cancelation request" and disappeared "to sleep".
Please note - we are talking about 1,2mln equipment, and at least $1000 daily loss.
So whoever needs any emergency tasks to be done, or any at all - these guys have no knowledge at all. Probably used "dumps" (the materials which provides the current exam questions/answers) - meaning they have an absolute ZERO technical knowledge. And for the most - it will end up the same - wasted time and money.
Ah yes, he added up, that he really needs to sleep, but he would be back in 3 hours if its OK?
We agreed. But then, he was not happy about that either.
Is this how the professional companies do the business these days?
