Boycot Nevada State Bank they cashed a check that that put my account into overdraft by only several dollars
by the time i discovered this 3 weeks later i had to pay $203 in overdraft fees with other arbetary fees i had to pay
$320 in 12 years with this bank i have never had insufficent funds once they din not have my permission to ever
put through a check that wasn't covered they were putting on overdraft fees daily you could end up owing $thousands
and not know it untill they ruiened your credit . If this happens to you file complaints with every consumer and government
agency tou can write blogs, take them to small claims court, remember they are owned by Zion bank so don't expect
any morality from them.

First off as the account holder it is YOUR responsibility to make sure you have enough funds in your account to cover any and all debits and withdraws. You do this by keeping a WRITTEN register of your account marking down all of your withdraws and then do NOT attempt to use your debit card or write a check if you do not have enough money to cover the transaction at that time.
Now, you may be thinking about the ability to "opt-out" of Debit Card Overdraft protection. That does allow you to tell the bank that if you do not have funds currently available at the time you attempt to use your debit card to have the transaction rejected. But that does NOT guarantee you will never get an overdraft fee.
A bank has the option to either pay the check and charge you an NSF/Overdraft fee, or reject the check. They don't need any additional permission to do either. As you gave them the option to do either when you opened the account.
If they reject the check they have the right to charge you (an almost equivalent) returned check Fee. On top of that the person/company you wrote the check to has the legal right to charge you a fee for the returned check. In some cases they can actually take legal CRIMINAL action against you. If you don't believe me contact your local DA Office and ask them about their "Check Restitution Program".
Oh and this is how EVERY bank works. So before you start to talk about the morality think about the morality of spending money you don't have.

Any agency that you complain to will inform you that your signature on a check gives the bank permission to process it. You overdrew your account and this is 100% your fault.
