Based on my opinion and experience:

DO NOT USE NEW PLANET MOVING AND STORAGE!

To anyone who is considering getting sucked into New Planet Moving and Storage low rates, and super friendly person who calls you, please heed my advice and run as fast as you can the other way! Do not get suckered in! They are absolutely horrible scammers! They will underestimate your move, then charge you the high rate poundage for the thousands of pounds over you will likely be, break/dent/scratch the majority of what you own, refuse to give you the weigh slips, and leave you with a headache you will be dealing with for months. Keep in mind with their 60 cents a pound, if they, let's say, drop and ruin your 40 pound flat screen TV...at 60 cents a pound, you are looking at a nice $24. That's only if you have enough stamina to persist after months of losing your claim, forgetting to submit it, not sending you the paperwork, etc., etc.

They underestimated our move by thousands of pounds, refused to give us weigh slips, refused to give us furniture without getting paid despite not having weigh slips, damaged the vast majority of our items, which were all horribley packed by them - boxes marked fragile on all sides were crushed underneath boxes full of books.

If you value what you own at all, do not use them. It will be ruined, even if you pay hundreds for their "crating", which is actually not a crate at all as anyone with reason would think of a crate. It is ripped up cardboard boxes wrapped around your stuff. They even taped the packing tape to the wood antiques on the inside to get the "crating" to stay on, and much to no one's surprise, packaging tape will rip off the finish off antiques. Amazingly enough, your stuff will still get damaged through seemingly impenetrable forcefield of cardboard.

Please heed my advice, spend a little more, and save yourself the pain of dealing with these people!

New Planet Moving Lying, Cheating Crooks

AUTHOR: the Grim Reaper - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, August 13, 2011

I am not this "same" person that this New Planet Moving is talking about. This report was written in 2008 and my experience with these crooks just occurred. I had a "binding" estimate, 12 contracts, and 29 phone calls that all SWORE to me that my move was based on weight NOT cubic feet and that IF my items weighed less than the estimate/contract that I would be issued a refund. My furniture was 900 pounds LESS than their estimate (because I was FORCED) by Leslie (cockroach scag) Fontaine to submit less weight than the contract specified. And I have the "before" and "after" truck weight bills to prove it! Then these lying, crooks had the NERVE to charge me $1200 MORE or they would sell my furniture at auction. They called two days later and blackmailed and bullied me into paying more money OR ELSE!

In addition, these worm infested scum bags stole several items from me (not delivered) and, when challenged (using a psychology technique), they admitted having the missing items. I hope one of those sleaze bag bitches enjoys my oak cabinets that they ripped off and those brand new custom windows they stole from me. They even tried to screw us out of more money by telling my father that they could not get their truck up our driveway (so they could rip us off for another $2000) but my Dad had the Sherriff here to make sure they delivered the furniture as promised.

They broke and scratched all the living room furniture, punctured the sofa and loveseat cushions, busted the entertainment center into 50 pieces, broke the legs off my walnut desk, the dressers were all broken into pieces, the mattresses were all wet and stained with rust stains, even though they wrapped them in these cheap plastic bags that were torn and full of holes before they even got on the truck (and charged me $25 for each mattress and box springs). More items were damaged than not and they cursed me for complaining about it. The rat blastard owner Moshe Alosh (who can barely speak English and sounds Iranian) was so rude and ignorant on the phone (and he even threatened me), I had to hang up on him.

The employee who wrote this review is also a lying sack of rat feces. I called the Better Business Bureau and New Planet Moving has more bad reviews than Hitler! Don't trust these scum of the earth. They promise less money, then extort more and more and more and continue to blackmail you until you get the law or a lawyer involved to force them to STOP! I heard that one guy is sending out 5000 emails a day to warn people about this pack of lying thieves. I am considering doing the same. AND, I am suing them!

These customers had great moves,

AUTHOR: New planet moving and storage - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 04, 2011

I am writing in reference to our experience with New Planet Moving from 06/22-06/30/11.
Lauren Alexandra was the first individual that my husband and I spoke with at New Planet Moving in May as we were obtaining quotes from a number of moving companies.  Lauren was very patient as she listened to our questions and concerns as this was our first major move across country from Ohio to California.  She followed up with occasionally after we received the initial quote as we were trying to make a decision.  Based upon a number of references that Lauren had provided and I had made contact with the references, we made the decision to select New Planet Moving.
Lauren once again was very patient as I believe I had her walk through the inventory list three times and our list continued to change.  She suggested that we slightly over-estimate which was the right call...we still had more inventory than what I had given her the final time!
Lauren said that we would have the person in charge of our move call me the day before they arrived, and he called as expected!  Leo and Daniel were two energetic movers with a great sense of humor.  They worked extremely hard as they packed up the semi-truck on a somewhat hot-humid day dodging one short-lived rain storm.  I walked them through all three floors of our house and they did a beautiful job wrapping and protecting the furniture that I had not disassembled, as well as wrapping up a number of our large framed pictures.  Leo gave me some great pointers as I was still packing the last of the boxes when they arrived.  I was amazed at the precision of packing from floor to ceiling...I thought I was a good packer!
Upon arrival at our townhouse in California, Leo and Daniel once again did a great job efficiently moving all the furniture into the respective rooms, reassembling furniture, and patiently waited until I moved my cats to a different bedroom so they could bring the last bedroom furniture and boxes upstairs.
Although my husband fell asleep on the couch and my mom and I were busy orchestrating where everything was to be placed late into the night, Leo and Daniel were professionals.
When we are ready to move again, my first call will be to New Planet Moving!
__________________________________#2Thank you so much for taking my call today. I just wanted to follow up and say Yaniv Steimberg is such an asset to your company.
This man took such great care of my belongings and did this all on his own.
No help at all. He did a move prior to me, spent four hours on my move and then has just left to do a full house move. then he will drive 4 hours back home to Las Vegas.
All on his own!  I know all of us are so grateful for jobs these days but I have to ask that proper recognition be given to this man...he went above and beyond the call of duty.
He represented your company in such a positive light that you can count on me to recommend your services, Thank you for your time.____________________________#3 We recently used your company for a cross-country move from California to NC!  It started out a little shaky on my birthday when the movers showed up and I had an impossible driveway to deal with.  They were very professional in every way and re-assured me that they would work it all out and get us moved that day!  They did an excellent job and shuttled our 5 BR home down the street, wrapped everything, and completed it in less than 7 hours!  They were also very kind and polite in every way! We were given a 2-3 day window of when our furniture would be delivered to our home 2800 mile away.  I was concerned about weather and the possibility of not receiving it for the weekend when we had family help.  Well, they arrived even earlier than we were told and did another fabulous job unloading everything off the truck!  Carlos even remembered our furniture and the room it came from when I mentioned where it was to be placed in our new home, although it was wrapped.  They placed everything where we wanted and nothing got scratched or broken at all!!!!   They completed the unloading with only 2 guys in a timely manner as well!!
I would strongly recommend them for any move and will definitely use them again if we ever move again and I wanted to let you all know this!  Thank you for a pleasant experience!_______________#4 Except for today's confusion over payment, everything went great on both ends of the move.  Both crews were excellent.  Our furniture was well cared for and arrived in great shape. I must have mis-heard you about "money order".  I thought a personal money order from Wells Fargo Bank would be just as good.  At any rate, the agreement for a cashiers check today at least meant only one more trip to the bank, rather than having to deal with the bank and the post office while the crew waited.  Thanks for all your help setting things up. Everything was true to your word.  I will certainly recommend New Planet Moving to anyone else._______________________#5 I used your company to move from Chicago, Illinois to California at the end of July, 2010.  During the moving process, I have changed my inventory list, made periodic payments to prepay before the movers arrive and have requested various changes be made to my contract.Throughout everything, Lauren has been helpful and efficient.  I have never dealt with a customer service representative that was so enjoyable and who helped me trouble shoot every issue that came up.  She is an amazing asset to your company and the key reason that I decided to go with New Planet Moving and Storage instead of one of your competitors. Because of Lauren's ability to turn the headache of moving into an easy transition, I plan on always coming to New Planet with any relocation needs that I may have in the future...

LIARS, LIARS, LIARS

AUTHOR: the Grim Reaper - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, July 28, 2011

The New Planet Moving employee said that there are multiple complaints by the same person BECAUSE that's what THEY do. They get their employees to write bogus "nice" reports about them so they don't continue losing business. True story, reported my a frustrated x-employee who quit because he feared that criminal charges filed against them might ruin his future.

They really are rotten, lying, thieving soundrels who have ripped off so many people, it's amazing they can even still be in business. There's a class action suit against them and some ripped off customers are even filing criminal charges against them for fraud and extortion. No surprise there.

Don't be fooled by these snakes. They lie and promise everything, then cripple you with up charges and over billing. They showed up at our house with 12 contracts! They never said a word about having to pay extra for wrapping mattresses in cheap plastic (they it was a law, another lie). They advertise that cost is by weight, but charge HUGE sums of additional funds if they screw up and miscalculate the truck space required to move your property.

And they steal what they want from the move and claim it was lost. Don't be fooled by the smiling face and kind voice of Leslie Fontaine, Lauren Canavan, Fara Gallegos, Yossi "Joe" Cohen, and the redneck, barbarian owner called Moshe Alosh. They are not only liars and thieves who blackmail and commit fraud, they are stupid, incompetent, and lazy. They make so many mistakes, it's no wonder they can't get anything right. Don't listen, don't believe their lie, run like the wind and never look back. If you escape getting burned by these slugs, count your blessings!

Inventory is very IMPORTANT

AUTHOR: New Planet Moving And Storage - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 19, 2008

First I would like to point out the fact that all 3 reports here are from the same move, this person went under different screen names to do this. I have been working for New Planet Moving starting last September of 2007. After working for several different moving companies, it was a breathe of fresh air coming here. The people were much more organized and gave more honest rates upfront, instead of hiding charges like many other carriers.
In this particular situation we did an on-site visual estimate for a customer. What this means is we go to thier home, go through everything, all furniture, closets, cabinets, EVERYTHING. We make a very detailed list, and give a binding estimate based on the items we inventory. Binding means that regardless of the weight, if the items are the same, there are no additional charges. Well this person tried to take advantage of the "binding rate" The day of the pickup when the movers arrived there were literally 10 office desks, several file cabinets full of paper (which weighs a ton), computers, chairs and pretty much everything for an office of 10. About half way through the move, the foreman noticed that these items were not on the list, as the customer had at first said "ohh, we brought it out here to make it easier for the move."
The foreman then called the owner, who was also the person who did the visual estimate, and he of course knew that these items were not there at the time he did the visual estimate. So the owner himself went to the customers home, as the movers were still packing and loading, he told the customer that this was not what our binding estimate was made for. Not to be taken advantage of by people by taking an additional half of a semi, and pay the same rate. The customer's response was simple. "Oh well, its a binding estimate you can't do anything." To cut this short, the police were called, they settled out at the corrected price for all of the additional office furniture, and the customer was furious with this. Being that he had to move, and the police officer told him that we were right, and in all reality we could have actually charged the additional items at additional weight (which we did not), he was still very upset that he did not "Get Over" on the company/owner.
He later threatened that he would get his revenge on this website.
And now I see claims that we hold weight certificates, We must have weight certificates on board at all times, it is the LAW. If the driver is ever stopped by any law enforcement and cannot verify the weight, he and we will receive a very hefty fine. We weigh the truck before each pickup, load everything onto the truck, and go directly to the same weigh station afterward to confirm the actual weight of each individual move. In addition to this we offer a free re-weigh upon delivery. In this case we can weigh the truck before delivery, unload, and then re-weigh it at the weigh station, thus confirming the actual weight. If any customer requests this it takes less than 5 minutes and we are more than happy to comply. Which in many cases when people go over thier weight estimated, they do like to have it reweighed or verify the certificates upon delivery.
The driver will arrive at pickup with the weigh slip for each customer, (ALWAYS) after pickup if the customer chooses they may follow the driver to the weigh station at this point and verify the weight there. Or as in most cases, When the driver closes his paperwork for the day, he calls everything into the office. The following day or two, every customer will receive a phone call from our accounting department, confirming total weight, packing materials, and total balance due. As well as delivery date. At anytime from this point, we can email fax or mail the weight certificates, or invoices. And there is no reason we would not provide this information. It is crucial in our companies revenue.
The sales reps do not attempt to underestimate the move, customers call in with an inventory of what they are moving, end up not selling that couch, that old bed, or having 40 boxes all large instead of 30 all medium, all these things add up. And if we are not notified to update the inventory before hand, additional weight is at a higher rate per pound. The reason for this is we reserve a certain amount of space on each truck for each move. If customers go over, we may have to send an entirely new crew and truck to do other jobs scheduled. Due to these costs that we incur, but do not charge our customers, we have to charge additional weight at a higher price per pound. (As does EVERY OTHER MOVER).
I am not saying that we have never made any mistakes, but I can say that we are recommended by the BBB in Las Vegas, NV. We are recommended by the Chamber of Commerce in NV. We are with the DOT, AMSA, and several other associations. And with any problem we may have had, we have resolved EACH issue accordingly. Please be very accurate with descriptions through inventory when you are moving and it will take away the "surprise charge at the end" Sales representatives, always quote you at a higher rate. When you are talking to New Planet Moving and Storage if we get an inventory that estimates at 3400lbs, we will recommend going with an estimate at at least 3650lbs, so that you have a little room to breathe. Some customers will even say no, just do it exactly at that weight, and we do, but most commonly these are the people that go over. So beware of brokers and companies who estimate your exact weight, not any overage. And hopefully we can do business with you soon.
