NextCard Visa Credit Card Services Rip-off Scam

I transferred a balance from another card which was approximately $1,700 to the NextCard Visa. After receiving my card I made one purchase from a company that I heard on the radio for a diet product. This product had a 30 day money back guarantee, and before the 30 days was up I returned the product, received a confirmation of receipt and expected a refund at the next billing cycle.

About 3 weeks later I received a phone call from the NextCard Visa people, stating that my card was over the limit and that a payment had not been made and I needed to pay a certain amount to bring it back down to my credit limit (which was $2,000). I knew there was no way since I had just paid the bill and explained that the credit was going to be made to the card etc, etc. Well that was the beginning of the nightmare.

I called the company that I had purchased & returned the product from and they said that they had a company (third party billing) that did their returns and that they had walked out on them and could not issue return credits and that I would need to dispute it with my credit card company and that it would get resolved that way. So I contacted NextCard and explained the situation and filed a disputed claim thinking that that would resolve it. WRONG. I started to receive as many as 4 phone calls in one hour demanding payment on the account every day for a week. Then after talking to a supervisor and demanding that the harrassment stop and tried to come to somekind of working agreement with the credit card company and thinking that it was all worked out it started again.

The card because of finance charges and late fees and overlimit fees is now well over the limit of the original transfer. And just recently the credit card company has jacked my interest rate up to 30%. After trying relentlesly to resolve this matter I closed the account and have just been trying to get it paid off, I did not know that the interest rate had been raised to 30% because I was supposed to have received a letter 6 months ago and never received it, but that doesn't matter to them and I also asked for a reduction to the interst rate but because I closed the account they will not even talk to me. Their solution is to contact a third party credit counseling bureau, but don't guarantee that they will reduce the interest rate.

Their employees in the collections department are rude, extremely harrassing and really don't give a flip, regardless that the charges and fees were caused through no fault of mine and that the total amount that caused this was in dispute. When you talk to one person and think that you have the problem resolved and make payment restution because of what the employee that you are dealing with at that present time tells you to do, it may not be the right answer and even after a supervisor tells you that you will receive no further harrassing calls of collection, within the hour you will recieve a call demanding payment.

With the interest at the rate it is now I am paying nothing but interest for the transfer of a balance to try to get a lower interest rate. BEWARE OF THIS INTERNET CREDIT CARD...AND REMEMBER THE OLD ADDAGE...IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT ALWAYS IS!!!
