I found a job on the internet applied and was called the next day and was told I have to give a deposit of 74.00 as a security deposit to start everything but it will be returned to me after a 5 wk training period.
Then I did research and found that it was a invalid business and I want my 74.00 back.

I got my 74 back...in 3 weeks

You are all silly people...I got mine back..probably because I know how to telemarket..or at least work...silly, silly sad people..I am in sales now and doing just fine considering I've been here for 6 weeks...silly silly people. Telemarketing means building a pipeline and working it..only boiler rooms give instant gratification, if that is what you all are looking for you should not be in sales.

This is long and in depth, but a couple of little tidbits you may not
be aware of~

First, when NHCD swindles you out of your access code fee of 74 bucks, they then set you up with that code, that you are to use when you
make your contact calls. (It's the same kind of code that you see on television commercials~ ie, 10-10-220........the same kind of code any consumer at home can use to dial before the actual long distance number, to supposedly
save them a few cents per minute per call.)

For those of you who don't know this, whenever you call these people on your contact list, did you know, in this wonderful day and age of
technology, that anyone with caller ID, can see who's calling them? If you do not block your own phone number first before every access code
and every call combination, they not only now have your home phone number, but if you don't get ahold of a live person, and either hang up or leave a message, they'll see that on their caller ID later, wonder who in the hell is calling them, and why?

Do you know how much fun it is, to have some poor old person, see your name, the area code, and since they're half bored anyway, call you back to see why you called them in the first place? Then you're stuck with a dilemma:

1) Do I lie, and say I had reached a wrong number, or

2) Become a total imbecile, start giving my NHCD script spiel (on their dime), thus taking the chance of them going totally OFF on me because they've not only had enough bogus telemarketing calls from people trying to sell them
something, but I caused them to make a long distance
call? (Older persons will spend their life savings on a loaded Cadillac with leather seats and a faux wood dash, but don't you DARE make
them spend 49 cents on a long distance call. They will wig on you every time, man.)

Hmmmmmmmmmm.....which lesser of the two evils here will help me salvage the last drop of integrity I have?

And here's the second fun filled fact:

NHCD prides themselves on the basis of 'We've been in business for over 15 years!'
When I dealt with them in February of 2002, the access code fee was only (in comparison to now) $49.00, and before I told them to shove it a few weeks later, it had gone up to $59.00........(their excuse was, people were abusing
the access code for personal use when it was free, so to offset 'their' cost, they had to start charging the fee, which is understandable to a point if some nut was calling a relative in Guam.)......

To date, the access code fee is $74.00. Within a 2 year's time, that access code fee
has gone up from 49 to 74 bucks~ a 25 dollar increase.......
......now, follow me here~ there's math involved.........

A 25 dollar increase in just 2 year's time.........so take off the 2 years, and that
leaves 13 years..........so for 13 years, the access code went from FREE to
$49.00... .. doesn't sound so bad for 13 years, does it?

Here's the kicker though:
Take 13 years times $3.77 per year and that'll give you $49.01.......le't's drop
the penny just for fun~ $49.00........so
for 13 years, the access code fee every year, has gone up $3.77 per year.........now, factor in what I wrote a second ago about the fee
going up 25 dollars within 2 years.............it went up $12.50 a YEAR, 2 years straight.

Do you see what I'm getting at here? Even the high cost of living, drug costs,
and the national average, standard of living increase percentages don't exceed this amount stats wise.

Think about it........

I've responded under other NHCD compaints here about the 'telephone solicitation' laws, and there are new and updated laws in 21 states, but if I'm correct, in most states, there is a manditory 72 hour waiting period that, by law, they have to hold your payment in case you change your mind, etc....and since NHCD does that, that means, with minions all over the country, I'd say, almost all do at this point.

As I had stated before, if this happened since Monday, NHCD HAS TO, BY LAW, forfeit the access code payment back to you. Now, if you 'signed' that thing they call a 'contract', and it's been well over 3 days since you agreed to this, then, let's say..........

First of all, you've learned a lesson to always, always, research a company FIRST before handing them over your hard earned money.

Second, here are a couple links, pertaining to Ohio, that may give you some help, insight, or direction as to how to remedy this situation:

Type in NHCD there, and you will see 3 complaints filed with them, and if you research the attorney general site, you will see laws pertaining to 'telemarketing' or 'telephone solicitation'.

Keep in mind, that under the TS laws stated under the links on this page, it says that one can be exempt is if
there was permission given for the call to start with...........but the key here is, without getting too in depth with the loop holes, is this:

When you filled out that questionaire on that site, giving your name/home phone number, the best time to call you, bla bla bla, did it state ANYWHERE on that page, that in order for you to be condsidered for employment with their company, that there was a 'fee' for the access code, and that you had to pay that upfront before you could become an 'employee', and that it would be a minimum of five weeks or the '500 contact calls' before you'd be eligible to receive the refund of it?

And this is where they can get by with it~ or think they can, and that's how they get you to sign up in the first place. How many people are going to want to PAY to work? Would you have given that site a second look if it said on there somewhere, 'You must pay an upfront access code fee of $74.00'? Unlikely~

And, even though the BBB is sometimes not very helpful when it comes to so called 'employee' complaints, here's the link just in case. At least having something on file can't hurt:

When you filled out that questionaire on that site, giving your name/home phone number, the best time to call you, bla bla bla, did it state ANYWHERE on that page, that in order for you to be condsidered for employment with their company, that there was a 'fee' for the access code, and that you had to pay that upfront before you could become an 'employee', and that it would be a minimum of five weeks or the '500 contact calls' before you'd be eligible to receive the refund of it?

And this is where they can get by with it~ or think they can, and that's how they get you to sign up in the first place. How many people are going to want to PAY to work? Would you have given that site a second look if it said on there somewhere, 'You must pay an upfront access code fee of $74.00'? Unlikely~

And, even though the BBB is sometimes not very helpful when it comes to so called 'employee' complaints, here's the link just in case. At least having something on file can't hurt:

Look under your state BBB in Ohio info site also, type in NHCD and see what it says pertaining to complaints filed and resolved for them.

And third, go STRAIGHT to the link they gave you~

Go into Internal use, put in the password the NHCD minion manager gave you~ and IMMEDIATELY put in a request for your deposit back, and be prepared, because they are going to tell you, "Too bad........you signed the contract and you should have read it before you agreed to this, and if you had any questions, you should have asked." And that, my dear, is going to be the only excuse they give you, and do not let up. Save every email, every name, every number, every receipt, every date, every time, you name it.

And after a few weeks, if they don't give you your refund back? Go run yourself a nice hot bubble bath, surround yourself with candles, grab your phone, dial the access code, and make a really nice $74.00 long distance call to someone overseas. lol
