I fulfilled an online offer that required me to purchase or become member of a number of book clubs, credit card offers, online companies, etc. Once you completed all six requirements than they would send you a voucher for a free Dell Inspiron 1000 Notebook. After 5 emails over three months(as they have no phone number nor did they have an address for a long time listed) in which they sent only automated replies to, I did not recieve the required certificate to complete and send in to get my computer. I finally gave up and reported it to the BBB of Florida (see insert below) which they had no luck having them resolve the issue either. ). Dell? Inspiron 1000 Notebook - Reserved for: xxxxxxxxx name address To qualify for your FREE* Dell? Inspiron 1000 Notebook continue by fully completing any 2 of the top offers listed below on this page! Once you fully complete the offer eligibility requirements as outlined in the terms and conditions, we will ship the Dell? Inspiron 1000 Notebook to you for FREE! Prior to us shipping the Dell? RE: #23019967 - NIU Tech, LLC Dear Mr. (NAME): Thank you for utilizing the services of the Better Business Bureau. We have contacted the company on your behalf in an attempt to reach a mutually acceptable resolution to your dispute. However, the company has not responded to the correspondence we sent them on your behalf. Through mediation, the Bureau strives to find a fair and amicable solution to disputes that occur between a customer and a business, however, instances do exist where Bureau is unable to bring about a satisfactory resolution to a dispute. Because mediation is a voluntary procedure, the Better Business Bureau cannot compel either the business or consumer to settle a complaint. The company's file has been updated to reflect that they have failed to respond to a complaint brought to their attention by the Bureau. If this company is a State Regulated business you may wish to contact the Florida Division of Consumer Services at 850-922-2966 or on their website at www.800helpfla.com. You may also wish to contact: Sincerely, Bethann Lucas Dispute Resolution Specialist bbb3@wpbbb.com

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Hold Niu Tech (and their aka's) accountable! Report them to the NC Dept. of Justice and the FL Att. General...

AUTHOR: Todd - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, February 03, 2005

Hi Ed,

Sorry to hear about your experience w/ Niu Tech and their subsidiaries - and especially frustrating to hear that the BBB did not go to bat for you. My experience w/ the same company, under the psedonym eMarket Research Group, was similar. After filing a formal complaint w/ the North Carolina Dept of Justice, Consumer Protection Division, their mediation resulted in my getting the free iPod within the week. Might I suggest that you do the same with either or both the NC and the FL attorney general's office (dept of justice, consumer protection)?

See my previous post for further details on how to do this:

Let us know what happens! It takes less than 20 minutes to do!

Good luck,
