I was in a car rack it was the other drivers vault he didn't have insurance the only insurance I had was with car lot and it only covered the car. They fixed the car and said I had a $500 deductible and because they say I was behind on the notes with a amount of $1300 that I had to be current on the note before I could get the car back. I ask for some time to get up which I don't think that was true because when I would make a reguraly car payment of $200 they would take $50 dollars of it and pay the insurance first which would make the car payment be late. The total with the insurance was $250 every two weeks. Veronica was the person who was my account manager and it all was up the her on what decision were to be made on my account. She gave me some time at first but I couldn't come up with the $1300 as fast as she wanted me to. She wait until a few days before the 31st and said that that if I could come up with $500 by that day she would put the other amout at the end of my loan and that I would have a reguraly car payment and make payments on the $500 deductible with each payment. I ask if she could wait until the 3rd on Janurary which was when I get paid and she said no that the 31st of December would be the only day. If she had told me to come up with $500 a long time ago I would have my car now. She said it would a repo and that I would not be able to recovered the car like I didn't want it.

I thought that the next step would be for it go to the repo department and I would have able to recover the car if I want get it back but no she said there was nothing I could about it. I think it wrong first of all because someboby hit me and I was left without a car, the car lot had insurance on the car and that was for them to try to collect from the other person who hit me I gave them the police report number for the rack. I think could have put all the amount she was asking for on the end the note. I think it all was fraud on their behalf because the police ran my plates and said that it didn't show it had insurance on it so I am confused because that was the first thing they pay and the only insurance paper I had to show the police said that there was no phone number on it to call and check and no policy number so was it really insured or was they just collecting money.

You are completely confused

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - ()

I don't work for this dealership or any other car dealership. However, I can tell that you are completely confused about the entire process of purchasing and owning a vehicle.

First, I assume that you made a mistake when you put "rack" rather than "wreck". Wreck means damaged through collision. "Rack" means a stand on which you display items. For example, when you go to the store, you might see a hat rack. You can see that those two words are completely different.

Secondly, you are supposed to obtain auto insurance to fully cover your vehicle per your state's DMV. The insurance is to be paid regardless, even if the vehicle is not running or is wrecked in an accident. It appears that you chose to use the worst insurance available: the insurance through the car lot. Not only is this particular insurance high cost insurance, but the coverage is generally low to non-existant; that is why it is considered the worst. At least the car lot personnel applied the payment correctly: toward the insurance billing first and the balance to your auto loan.

Third, you admitted you were not able to make the payments in full. You only made partial payments some of the time. That is the very first indicator that you really can't afford to own a vehicle.

As a result, you now have a repo that will probably be notated on your credit because you failed to make the payments. You set yourself up for failure by going to a Buy Here Pay Here lot to start. Your best bet at this stage is to do what you have to do to pay off the vehicle. I am sure if you come up with the money today, they will most likely accept it. Remember, you owe a balance even if you never get the vehicle back. The auto lender will send you paperwork telling you the exact deficiency amount after the vehicle is sold. The note you signed to buy the vehicle does NOT go away when the vehicle is repossessed. It is your responsiblity to pay this off whether you have the vehicle in your possession or not. That is the contract you signed when you purchased the vehicle. Read the contract so you are aware.

If the car lot doesn't accept your payment, then you will need to make arrangements to take public transportation to your workplace or ride with a co-worker. Don't go out and buy another vehicle. You aren't ready to own one yet. Educate yourself on your responsibilities as a vehicle owner before you attempt to buy another one. Get your financing through a bank or credit union and go to a regular dealership. If you can't do that, then work on your credit and income before you attempt to purchase another vehicle of any type. In the meantime, you will have plenty to deal with paying off the loan you already committed to when you signed the contract for this vehicle you wrecked.
