On February 13, 2010 I went into Mitch's furniture store located west of I-10 (Black Canyon Highway) to purchase furniture for my new house. I purchased a dining room set and a sofa and loveseat.

When we spoke with the sales person Dennis, he said that they just received new sofa and loveseats and that I would love them. They had just come off of a truck and were outside where I looked at them and decided to purchase them.

On Sunday, March 7,2010 I was doing my cleaning, I noticed that each back corner of these couches had the fabric pulling away from the underlying fabric. I contacted the store to file a claim as I was assured that there was a warranty.

Upon speaking with who said she was the manager of the store Trisanne, she was rude and not very helpful to offer a resolution. Instead she asked me to take pictures of the areas and email them to her which I did.

Her response to my reported problem was as follows: "What the pictures are indicating to me is that they were mishandled once we gave them to you, this is clearly indicated by the burn type markings caused by dragging them instead of lifting them and carrying them properly. You picked them up just shy of one month ago as well??"

I have purchased furniture in my lifetime and have never purchased a soft or loveseat that only lasted for a few weeks. The only thing that I want is due dilligence by replacing my sofa and loveseat with the same style, color, and model.

Who is wrong/who is right?

AUTHOR: Scott - (U.S.A.)

You may have damaged them yourself during transit or while moving them into your home. They may have very well been this way when you picked them up. They may,in fact, be deteriorating due to poor materials/workmanship.

You purchased these pieces from a bargain basement type retailer. You wouldn't go to a Kia dealership looking for a Mercedes, would you? Either way, you get what you pay for.
