Report doesn't make sense

First, every item at Nordstrom is sold with a return receipt attached to the item. This is not the paper receipt handed to the customer, but a barcode affixed to every item. A purchase can't be completed without scanning that barcode.
If the item was in the original box as the OP claims, where is the attached return barcode? Returning an "original box" with no return barcode attached would, rightly, raise the suspicions of any employee that the items wasn't purchased from Nordstrom.
Nordstrom can also track the purchases based on the credit card or check used to purchase them.
There are several other ways to track a purchase, but those are confidential and involve Nordstrom security procedures, but suffice to say, if the purchaser can say the exact date and location an item was bought, Nordstrom could find it. In all likelihood, the "30-40 minutes" the OP says he waited was probably when the manager was trying these alternate methods, and determining that this was not a legitimate purchase.
Uggs are sold by many discount stores, on ebay. Likewise, there are a lot of counterfeit Uggs on the market. No store, including Nordstrom, is responsible for refunding a product that they can't verify was purchased from them.

Return policies don't apply to you?

The fact remains that you did not have a receipt, so your merchandise was not eligible for a return. Curious that you would not keep a receipt for something that you did not know would fit the intended recipient. How does anyone know where you got these boots?
By the way, knowing when something was purchased is not the same as holding the receipt in your hand. I would explain why (it involves crooks), but you would probably get indignant all over again. Suffice it to say that adhering to their return policy does not constitute a ripoff. Your expectation that they should make an exception just for you is not realistic.
" Buyers beware if you shop here you better have a masters degree or you will become called a liar a thief and an idiot by their manager!!! "
This makes absolutely no sense. A masters degree does not exempt someone from being either a liar, thief or idiot. You obviously don't have a masters degree, because you seem to think that those who do have one, carry their diplomas around to show to department store employees. It doesn't work like that.
Come to think of it, most of the really heinous thieves I know of have MBAs or better.
The only real education required to keep this from happening is the ability to read (and follow) a very simple return policy.
