Northwest Direct Marketing is a Call Center located in Beaverton, Oregon that telemarkets people to buy Dish Network, Cable, and Highlights Kids Magazines.  They only generally Hire Convicted FELONS and Drug addicts.  It is owned by a guy named Timothy (Tim) Rote who is a cheap-skate and a con artist.  They hire at minimum wage, and make sales goals for employees that are outgrageous and un-attainable.  The work environment is a complete joke.  The call center itself is absolutely disgusting, dirty, and full of low lifes.  DO NOT do business with this company if you value your own business!  DO NOT get a job at this company if you value you own personal integrity!  The management team constantly yells at employees and treats averyone like garbage.  Its amazing this place is still operating!

This place is God awful! I worked here for two days and was so uncomfortable in the environment I was forced to leave. They hire teenagers barely out of high school and complete scum of all ages. On breaks and lunches, half of everyone on the call center floor go outside to smoke and most disappear off to the skatepark to go smoke pot. The supervisors are equally shady people. I fully intend on notifying highlights corporate office and letting them know also of the sketchy people their third party call center hires. I'm sure they will love knowing who is handling the credit card info of their customers.

Worst Company to work for in Beaverton Oregon

I am a spouse of a former employee who worked for Northwest Direct Marketing for two years. This is hands down the worst company to work for. The treatment my spouse received was deplorable. I can confirm that paychecks were always shorted and employees were cheated out of their commissions. They do hire ex-cons. In fact, they direct hire from work-release programs as they get kick backs from the state for hiring and retaining felons. They do not do background checks.

My spouse was concerned about this prior to employement with NWD and was forthcoming about a felony convinction to which the hiring managers response was "we don't care as long as you can sell". I have been in the call center myself. It is quite bare and the computers are massively outdated. The owners are continually threatning employees. One supervisor did cocaine in the bathroom on a regular basis, another was extremely verbally abusive and threatening and would sleep with female suboordinates, and a different female supervisor slept with several subordinates during the span my spouse was an employee.

I had met several of this supervisors lovers, all of whom were her suboordinates. The owners steal from their employees. Paid vacation and other promised compensation was either never delivered, or it took incessant nagging over several months to get compensated for an expense that was several months old. Do not let their website fool you. They may have the hopes to be a reputable and sucessful company, but they only care about their bottom dollar.

During the span my of my spouses employment, employees were arrested and rehired once released from jail, mostly because they could not get a job elsewhere and were willing to take what they could get. People were caught having sex in cars in the parking lot, employees would comingle after work hours and get drunk and high together, and managers were involved in this behavior as well. It was an extremely dishonest and criminal environment to work in. Eventually my spouse quit and sought work elsewhere after the opportunity for something with integrity presented itself. I am suprised there is no class action lawsuit against this company. If there isn't, there should be.

The rebuttal recently filed was a total lie.  They NEVER do a background check, as I myself who quit back in june had 4 drug posession felonies from 6 years ago.  They didnt even ask!  No "remodeling" has ever happened, its the same garbage from years ago:  the same junk old black computers, the same old stained carpet, and the same blue/grey particle board "cubicles" (about 2 square feet feet in size) as before.  They hire felons and pay just above minimum wage with no possiblilty of a raise, thats why they DONT allow pens, paper, or phones at the desks, its not about distractions, it about the fact they dont want the people they hire writing down credit card numbers and putting them in their pocket and commit identity theft again, why do you think they say its for "security purposes?".  They also tell you when you can or cant go to the bathroom (no joke) and they constantly yell at employees.  Its ran like a total prison.

We are responding to a ripoff report containing a host of misinformation about our Beaverton call center. Based on the information contained in the report, we have concluded that the report was written by a recently terminated employee, under a hidden identity aka Superman-alison, Alabama.

Our call center has always been attractive and clean but in the last six months has been remodeled, with new carpet, paint and furniture. There is nothing dirty let alone disghusting about the center. The center is located in an upscale business park. We perform pre-employment background checks on all of our employees. Some of our clients require drug testing and some do not. All managers and supervisors are drug tested periodically. No one yells at employees and there is nothing hostile about our environment.

There are no con men or women here. There are no misleading tactics used. We train our employees to be professional. To remain an employee with us you must be professional at all times. Some do not meet that standard and are asked to leave.
