WOW!! Let me tell you something about NOVO 1 in HOLLAND, MI. I was desperate for a job and took a position with this company. 1st. the pay is not that great. They were aware of the fact that their T.V. Add stated positions starting at $10.00hr yet upon a mass hiring they made it clear they were only willing to pay $9.00hr. unless you were fluent in Spainish which pay's $10.00 hr. after testing. They utalized these translators putting off testing to delay their pay rate. One staff member who had been there, completed the test & had gotten her raise had it taken away 1 month after they gave it to her stating that further testing would be required. However they didn't have any further tests for her to take. Although I find it odd that they sure did use her translation skills continually after this " wage demotion."

More, yes. .. there is a lot more. They hire in very large groups, train in very large groups. . . and fire in very large groups (ironically before any raises or benefits can be obtained.) They continually dangle raises for better phone times and pretend to be understanding of the high cost of gasoline. Hahahaha, that was a nice trick.

Quality who is continually monitoring your call time and quality have no set rules for all quality personel to follow. Sure, they give you a great list for you to follow, however they tend to make up rules as they go and again use these reasons as why a supposed raise is so very close for you. (it will never happen)

Training, they give you a week long training session and you feel very confidant in yourself when you first begin. Watch out!! They make excuses as to their large accounts demanding unrealistic changes that go 98% against what you were just trained & now comfortable with. Get This.... they pretend to give you a week to change to the new "standards" & then it ends up being 3 day's. Offering job security by a one day training in a different department. Train you and then Fire You.

About 98% of the staff were fired the same day as me. Well, why is it that 2 weeks later they post they have jobs available?

If you are looking for a paycheck to hold you over for about 5 weeks this is the Job for you. However, don't kill yourself trying because they are basically keeping 1 out of 100 they hire and train. Sorry folks but I don't want to see anyone else put in the position they left me in.

Welcome to Novo 1

AUTHOR: bjobjs - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, September 16, 2012

Let me start by saying WOW you agents make 9.00 an hour-WOW!!! And by looking at the dates on your statements that would mean over a year ago Holland, Ft. Worth, and Dennison agents started at a minimum of 9.00 an hour. If you want to complain about something try a starting wage of 8.00 with a raise of .25 after 90 days and after a year you will get another .25 raise and each year after. That means Billings agents start at 1-2 dollars less than ALL of the other call centers and this is 2012. I've been an employ in Billings for almost 4 years and have yet to make $9.00 an hour. Have a Q.A. average of 97%, impeccable attendance, versatile in almost every account we take, volunteer to work overtime and holidays and YET I still don't make as much as new employees at the other call centers.

I will say though that there is an excess of company politics at this joib. Just because a company policy applies to you, that doesn't necessarily mean it applies to your coworker. You can't trust your team lead or other management which is really sad. You can guarantee that while at work it is every man (women) for themselves. Team leads will bad mouth you to others (co workers & team leads), your coworkers are no better, and they have a tendency to lie habitually and cop attitudes. The team leads in Billings have a tendency to even stab one another in the back. You can never get the same answer twice from any of them and they are so busy power tripping that they don't have time to help you. Each and everyone of them walk around with the attitude of "I'm the boss just do what I say, without question, or you'll be written up for insubordination."At least in Holland they have the option of keeping 1 out of 100, in Billings they are lucky if 1 out of 100 stays due to the way the agents are mistreated and ill prepared for taking of calls. In all my years of employment I have never had the misfortune of working in such a dysfunctional environment.

Novo 1 can be an okay place to work but you do have to learn how to tune out the company politics, adjust to the rude and poor treatment you receive, and cope with the abundance of calls you receive because of under staffing. My biggest coping technique is knowing I have a child who doesn't understand being hungry.

Wish It Wasn't So

AUTHOR: Long-term Employee (former) - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 15, 2011

I wish I could agree with your rebuttal, I really do.  I worked for Novo1 for just under two years (22 months total).  The first year wasn't exactly sunshine and lollipops 24/7, but nothing ever is.  I was happy with my position and the work we did in roadside, the job and stress never followed me home, and I never had any qualms about recommending people apply there.

All of that changed in December, and has gone nowhere but downhill since then.  Management bowed to the wishes of new clients, threw most all of our training, policies, and procedures out the door.  Change is part of life and any job, just like moaning, groaning, and belly-aching.  It's no different than having siblings.  This was way beyond that.

Scruples went out the window whenever necessary, policy was violated daily, and contractual obligations (with clients) were violated as well to keep the company from losing money with other clients.  If you didn't know how to handle a call type, had no training whatsoever on that vehicle or brand, none of that mattered any longer.  Shut up, take the calls, we don't care if you don't know anything about Rolls Royce.  We are being paid a lot of money, so just clam up and do what you're told, or we'll find someone who will.

Really wish it wasn't so, and it really wasn't for a long while.  And if it never gets that way for you, I'm honestly glad to hear it, and best wishes.  To others, just be careful and tread lightly.

Current Employee

AUTHOR: busymomof4 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, August 11, 2011

I have been working at Novo1 for 5 months.  I was hired in to work on the phones at 9.00hr as stated on TV.  After the raises (2 of them) I am currently at $10.  I have worked hard and been a good employee and have earned myself a shift I wanted based on my quality scores.  I like the people I work with, the job isn't difficult, and the management is helpful.  I knew that they let a few people go all at once, but they did that because those individuals were not meeting the handle time goals for the calls even after they had time to get them down.  It's sad that you needed to air your dirty laundry about a company that has been so good to me and several other people when you failed to meet the standards of the job at hand.  I love working here and plan to move up when more positions arise.  I am not a temporary employee here and I don't intend to let myself be one, I will work hard to get where I want to go and deserve to be.
