Un-freaking believeable! This company must be run by a bunch of monkeys, or at least their customer service department must be.
I bought some memory from Tiger Direct (the old Comp USA) last November and built my own system. After 6 months, one of the memory modules stopped working. Knowing that the SLI memory had a lifetime warranty, I went back to Comp USA/Tiger Direct, but was told THEY DO NOT ACCEPT ANY PARTS BACK. I had to go back to the manufacturer, who was in this case, OCZ Technology.
I e-mailed them, they e-mailed me back, and right away I knew they were going to be a problem. I needed an RMA (Returned Matrials Authorization) and they kept asking me stupid questions that wasted my time. Each time I had to go to their web site and submit an answer to their dumb questions. What I didn't realize was that by sending the e-mails directly through their web site, I did not have an ongoing copy of all the e-mails.
I finally got an RMA number, and sent them back the faulty module. Then I get an e-mail saying I only sent one, not BOTH. They never asked for both. So I wasted ANOTHER week sending in the GOOD module, which put my computer out of action. In the meantime, they sent THE FAULTY MODULE BACK TO ME with NO explanation of what it was. I thought it was a replacement module, but when I put it back into my computer, I discovered it was the BAD module they sent back to me! What a hunch of idiots.
So back to them again, get another RMA, I sent it in, and waited, and when a week had gone by and they never responded, I went to their web site to ask the status, and they had CLOSED OUT MY CASE NUMBER!!!
So now I have 1 bad memory module, they have my GOOD memory module, I have NO second computer, and they are NOT responding to my e-mails.
NEVER< NEVER< NEVER purchase from Comp USA since they were taken over by Tiger Direct. Their return policy sucks and you cannot get any consideration or satisfaction if you have to deal with the manufactureres, ESPECIALLY OCZ Technology and SLI memory products. I am now on 2 months dealing with OCZ Technology with no answers in sight.
