On April 4th, 2013, I paid for premium Microsoft office 8 for a 1 year, upon renewal at aprox. 6 p.m.  I left my laptop overnight with C. W. (sales rep.) at Office Max for the program to be installed and ready for pick up Friday morning. After I picked my laptop up that morning, I dropped it off at home as I was headed out to a class I did not need my laptop for. Upon arriving home that evening I opened my laptop and entered in the product key code as told by sales rep. and asked by computer. When I entered the code # it would not take the # entered (the given #) When this happened words came on the screen stating that I could only use code 1 time and that I would have to give Microsoft a call.

So after that I called Microsoft and the Tech. support stated with the product key code I gave them and my name and any other information they asked for, that I was not connected to their system, my husband spoke to them as well. They simply stated I could not be helped at all because i was not in there system.

So the next day Monday the 8th, I took my laptop back to O.M. and told I told them that the program did not work and that I would like my money back and Greg the manager said, "You know eventually everyone is going to need this program." I told him mine did not work and he turned his head the other way. Then a rep. named Mike came up to help me (the manager stayed far away and the look of disgust was on his face.) Unbelieveable.

Mike hooked up my laptop and found that the program indeed did not work. At this time I was given an address to Microsoft and was told that I would need to send specific items to them and things like why I was not happy about it .... as it did not work, address, ph.# product key code#, and that to be assured that it was off my computer Mike had me take photo's of proof that he took it off of my computer. So now the program is off my computer and with all this being done I needed to send all info. to Microsoft via signature mail. O.k. so I did this.

1 month later I receive a call from a woman at Microsoft and she stated unless I have the product key # CARD, I can not get a refund.Well nice....... I told her I did not install the product and she said well then I would go back to the store of purchase and get the card so we can get you a refund.

Went back to Out Money and mike got on the phone to Microsoft. which took a very long time for them to answer. Anyways, he was on the phone for along time and told me that he would get with them and that I could go home as I was there for 2 or so hours. He said he would get back to me. Well, I called that night and Mike had some other guy calling and told me that they would get back with me about this.

This kind of crud went on for a few more times and then I reported it to my credit card company and they O.M. rebuttaled the dispute by saying that I did not come to them for a refund within the 14 day period.

now my credit card company wants me to go to a same merchant and get there opinion with letter head and all.

I have gone to a similar place and any business knows that know one in business wants to make bad blood for other competitors no matter there true opinion.

So it I have indeed been ripped off by Office Max for $108,00. I should have known by the acronyms. O.M.  Out Money.
