Ohlson Packaging is a manufacturer of automatic food packaging equipment that has maintained their quality reputation since 1967. Their vision is to provide the best quality equipment at the best value. John Ohlson stated the following in regards to his company, "we have become a leader in global resourcing...we're using the global marketplace to make sure we're providing the best components, best equipment, with the best service at the best price." Over the years they have development clientele that includes Frito Lay, Hershey's, and Kraft Foods, "our company is really known for great value, and great service."



Leads for Ohlson Packaging are obtained through several different venues. They have an extensive network of independent sales reps to sell their equipment, as well as advertisements on the internet, in magazine, and at various trade shows. Ohlson Packaging takes potential client inquiries very seriously, "when a lead comes in our company policy is to get the customer the information their looking for...within 24 hours. We have a very high success rate of doing that. Our reps know us as one of the quickest response companies in providing sales information." Once a quote becomes an order it is passed on to the engineering team, and on of their engineering specialist is assigned as the project manager for the client. The project manager is the client's point of contact throughout the engineering process, and once the product is complete and installed Olson Packaging sends out a technician to train the clients on how to appropriately use their equipment.

CUSTOMER CARE & COMPLAINT RESOLUTION FROM OHLSON PACKAGING

During the onsite interview, Mr. Ohlson was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Mr. Ohlson explained that they manufacture systems that cost upwards of 100,000 dollars. Because of this they take the customer's opinion on the function of the product very seriously, "when a customer's here we'll run a system for them. We'll show them how everything works, and if they have any issues with anything they'll put together a punch list that we take care of." Mr. Ohlson gave an example of a recent client that was purchasing a system that made sugar coated gummy bear vitamins. The client noticed that there was a lot of sugar settling in the bottom of the container, so Ohlson Packaging created a sugar removal system to satisfy the customer's needs. This system of customer input, and willingness to adapt with the product has led to very few complaints, "when we contract to do a job we make sure we get it done at the price contracted. In the very rare case that we can't we would refund the customer their money."

When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Ohlson explained that the complaints on the website were written by a competitor not a customer, "this is simply a competitor trying to disparage our name by making false accusations." Mr. Ohlson offered this rebuttal, "I'd like to say that our reputation speaks for itself. We're known throughout the marketplace for living up to our word, and for great applications engineering for providing great equipment."
