In August 2005 my children were removed from my home. CPS gave several differant reasons that they removed my children but every time I prove them wrong the reasons change. I have completed all the classes they have asked and changed my whole life around. Still almost 5 years later I do not have my kids. I was acussed of being on drugs yet I passed every test they gave me. They terminated my rights and I filed an appeal. I won the appeal and thought that ment my kids would come home but no. We only went back to court and they are now trying to terminated again based on how long the kids have been gone. This all began due to that my husband and I were split up and my family told me that if I took him back they would take my kids. DHS came to my home and found nothing wrong then my husband and I got back together and 2 weeks later they came and took my kids. I do not feel that any one has the right to take your children based on who you are with. I have medical records and every thing that says my kids were healthy and well cared for.My kids were very happy and well cared for yet there are kids out there being abused and molested that still live with their parents. I do not understand. Several people have told me that I have a good law siut against cps but sewing will not bring my children home. My attorney told me that because I have fought so hard that I have made a differance for others but I still do not have my kids. I was also told by my attorney that I do not have a snow ball chance in hell because in Oklahoma it is the good ole boy system. This is not fare if I was a bad parent I would understand but all I did was try to keep my family together.I have called, wrote and e-mailed every one looking for help yet no one will go up against the good ole boy system of Oklahoma to help me. I do not know what to do. I have not seen my kids in 4 years. I wake up at night thinking that I hear them crying this is wrong. I miss my kids more then any thing. I am in the same boat as you are with the State of Kansas though.
I was accused of domestic violence, no proof and no police complaint. Then my youngest daughter had shaken baby syndrome, no proof and Radiologist said she did not have it, after that it was issues with my older daughter. Oh she has nightmares....um duh, shes in an unfamiliar place. Then its because I split up with my daughters mother, then cause we got back together. Then i didnt have a job for a bit and that was the reason, then because after finally leaving my ex, i met someone else and we were dating...mind you this is over the course of just a little over a year...Then because i MOVED FOR A JOB. not out of state mind you. I signed guardianship over to my mom.
My mother was having her house remodelled so she asked my kids' godparents to care for them for 5 months, basically to finish the school year, then she was going to take them back. 2 weeks before she was scheduled to have the kids back there was a child abandonment report filed.
IN AUGUST OF THIS YEAR, My mother gets a letter stating the report of abandonment was unfounded or unsubstantiated. no big deal, kids get to come home....WRONG. My mom gave up her rights as guardian, so not its all over me again. I have lived in my home for 10 months, I have been at my current job as a debt collection agent for 6 months, after recovering from an illness. I have completed several classes that were requested and now they want me to spend money that I could spend on my kids for a psych evaluation. I had one done less than a year ago and I was fine, I had some situational depression which is corrected.
The federal government has several regulations in regards to this, but they do not act on them. they cannot just shut down cps or anything cause there are families that do need the services. but in kansas if you smoke crack in front of your kids, you get to keep your kids. but if you have an unfounded accusation of any violence they are gone...no questions asked no investigation.

i would try getting a hold ofthe local news. make this a public matter. news crews are always looking for stories like this. good luck to you and your kids.
