Oklahoma Natural Gas company is an emerging monopoly on the citizens of Oklahoma.  This company has created policys that ripoff its consumers.  They charge a non prorated service charge to each of its gas consumers every billing period.  You may only use their service for one day and they have a stern policy to unmercilessly charge you for the full billing period.  This is a service you never receive or partially receive but must pay them the full service charge.  This is an issue I encountered when cancelling my service with them.

Yes Ken what you copied & pasted is plainly explained.  My issue with ONEOK is not that.  I have used their service for years & yes they have simplified it (lumped all pipeline costs into a simple "service charge").  My bone with them is I started my service with them on the 1st of the month, they bill you awkwardly mid month sometime so they can get an extra month out of you when you cancel.  I had 12 months of service, but I am forced to pay them for 13 months, thanks to their "service charge."  What I am saying is, you can log 1 day of service on a billing period & your forced to pay a full billing period.  Sounds like some wacky math to me???

Understanding Your Bill

Oklahoma Natural Gas Company’s residential rate structure has been simplified to make it easier to understand. And, there are two different rate plans to better match your individual natural gas consumption.

Plan A is for lower-volume customers whose annual consumption is less than 50 Dekatherms* per year. Plan B is for larger-volume customers whose annual consumption is 50 Dekatherms* or more per year.

Remember, these plans only affect what Oklahoma Natural Gas Company charges you for service and delivering the gas. The cost of fuel—the natural gas you consume—is separate and is based on the amount Oklahoma Natural Gas actually paid to buy the gas on your behalf. The company makes no profit on the sale of natural gas.

Rate Plan A (less than 50 Dekatherms per year)  Service Charge (monthly) - $13.21 Delivery Charge per Dekatherm - $3.7323

Rate Plan B (50 Dekatherms or more per year) Service Charge (monthly) - $28.76 No Delivery Charge

*A Dekatherm is a measurement of energy content. One Dekatherm is the approximate energy content of 1,000 cubic feet of natural gas.

Is this what you're talking about?  Looks like it's plainly spelled out.

What IS this "unmerciless" charge?

AUTHOR: Ken - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, September 11, 2013

 Is it a facility charge?

Do other utilities do the same thing.

What does your state's utility commission say about the method of charging?

" This is a service you never receive or partially receive but must pay them the full service charge"

How can they charge for a service that "you never receive?"
