My loan account had an ending balance of 29.76. It was paid, however they charged me my regular loan amount, which was quite a bit more than $30. So they owed me over $200 in over payment. Never received it. It was promised in 7-10 business days, then 7-14. Received nothing. Called them numerous times. Nothing but a run around. Disputed this with my bank, it was found in my favor. I was refunded the entire amount one main debited.
I informed them of this, questioned where this payment needed to be sent of $29.76, since my account was showing a 0 balance. Was told by the branch to wait and they would call me back, as they were confused by my question. They never took my complaint seriously or followed up like they promise. No return call. I happen to check my account online 3 days later, no return call received and these shady jokers have charged me the over payment amount they owed me!!!!!!
Since my bank disputed their claim, because I filed a dispute with my bank after the 15th business day of no refund check, they finally realized I was serious because now their books were affected, so instead of investigating whether this over payment check was cashed or received, they charge me for it because their records show a "check was mailed" I told them for the umpteenth time that I never got my check which is why my bank went after them, the reason why I got better business bureau involved and the reason I called them multiple times!
They said today when the payment dept. places a stop payment on this refund check they swear was mailed to me on 5/11/12, that to this day, that I have not received, and sends their office a check for the difference they will change my account to reflect a 0 balance!! How is that fair??? If they were investigating like they told me when I called multiple times, they would have known whether that check was cashed or not. And according to them it hasn't been! DUH!!
I am too outdone. At what point in my complaining did it not dawn on them to investigate this mysterious check?? I paid my account faithfully and timely for 5 years and learn that this company does not care about the consumer and will give you the run around! Many of the customer service reps are rude, regardless if you have a legit case. This has been going on for almost 2 months all over a funky $30 that I have been trying to pay!!! All I wanted back was what was due me, my overpayment!!! The nerve of them to charge me today, for a check I didn't receive, clearly my bank wouldn't have found in my favor if I did. I told them I won't be paying them for something i never received. Shady people!! Shadier practice!!
