Just like a minority of America I was looking through the newspaper for a new job and came across an ad for a receptionist, so I replied.

The girl who answered seemed like your typical receptionist, bubbly and whiling to help. Immediately set me up with an interview at four-thirty that evening. I tried to ask if could possibly set one up for the next morning de to previous obligations but she insisted that they would be making a decision that evening. So ignorantly...I rearrange my scheduled and showed up for my interview.

I walk in and they had some mixed cd playing is blaring and several attractive women managing their small desk and two other people sitting in the lobby. This threw me off a bit because of how much of a big deal they were making about the 4:30 appointment that I had to schedule in order to make it to the interview. Weird Right!? So the girl at the desk ask me fill out this, well honestly I am not quite sure what it is, I guess a mini app with all of my information on it. Not thinking of anything i fill out the strange app (it ask me what I would rate myself) do so, and even write down my ssn. OOPS!

A few moments go by and a small petite oriental women comes out from the back. She starts introducing herself to all three of us as "Little Nikki" and ask all three of us to come with her. At this point things are getting a little suspicious. I only know of one place that does group interviews and it is a door to door sales position (AT LEAST THIS COMPANY IS LEGIT).

The 4 of us walk into a small bare office and she apologizes saying "we never do this many in an interview how ever we had a larger turn out for our add the expected." Okay I could believe this, there was only two other ads in the news paper and one of them I already new was a scam. She goes from one to the other going over the information we wrote down on the app. Asking why we rated ourselves as we did, what is a goal for the next year and what our hobbies are. What does any of this have to do with this job?!?!? She continues to ask us what we would like to get paid and that she is doing this so she can see which position we need to be placed in. Why would you decided my position off of my pay rate request, hobbies and the fact that I rated my self and 8? Then she ask if we would be interested in a manager position. Ok, I have nothing against the other people but I was the only with management history. Why would you put a girl who works at claires a position where she is over seeing 25 people and managing her own location. Little Nikki continues to tell us that we can make any where between 36,000 to 56,000 a year. Ok right..... sounds to good to be true right?!? Of course it is.

She emphasis on how she has to make a decision today and that if we don't hear from her then to give her a call "because she doesn't believe in the don't call us we will call you BS" then she gave us all a different time to call back (five min between each other) to see if we got the job. Odd right! I know! They always call you. BIG RED FLAG. I call my mom immediately. I told her about the strange "INTERVIEW" and she got the same feeling, that SCAM was written all over it. Now I am feeling a little frazzled since I just drove 45 minutes for a 5 second interview and had to cancel my plans. 5:35 rolls around and I call...the receptionist (whom I was suppose to ask for) answers the phone. "Hi Amber this is ******* how are you?" She doesn't remember me and it takes her a few seconds to realize that I was calling back to see if I got the job. She then exclaims "CONGRATS YOU ARE IN THE RUNNING FOR A MANAGEMENT POSITION! Make sure you are here tomorrow at 1:00. Bring a notebook and dress sharp!" Ok what kind of second interview do you bring a notebook and have to be told to DRESS SHARP? I played it off like ohhh yea!

Finally I make it home and googled them. I came across this wonderful website. I couldn't believe the hits they got! So here I am now with the rest of colorado reporting how annoyed they are about the BS that they just endured. I guess I will see if I get any strange phone cals since I am not going to be showing up for my "Second Interview" I just dont understand how this is legal. There are so many stories, I am just happy that I am not one of the ignorant, did my homework and did have t spend a week of my life making them money and not me. The funniest part about this whole thing is my Dad called this morning to warn me about this company whom is scamming people. One of his employees wives just went through the same ordeal a couple of days before. LOL what a small world and extremely late timing on the warning.
