I can honestly say that this dealership is the most awful place to buy a vehicle and the staff is very discourteous. I purchased a used car from them and I completely understand that the car is very old. However I did not expect that quite a few VERY expensive things would break on it and render it pretty much useless in less than a year!!!!! Within 6 months, the power steering rack went out and that is a $1000+ repair, My Catalytic converter is bad ( the dealership service department told me it was my o2 sensor and would not work with me to replace it while it was under warranty) both my drivers side window regulators have gone out and now my key gets stuck in the ignition all the time. I have had other issues too that they actually did cover under the 2 month warranty like the mass airflow sensor going out. Who could sell someone this and not feel bad about what a piece of junk vehicle it was?? Ourisman Honda in Laurel!!! I called and spoke to a service manager and he told me that no one put a gun to my head and told me to buy it.. oh wait I'm sorry that this was the ONLY vehicle that fit in my price range that I could get qualified for and that I didn't want to lose my job and be homeless AGAIN!! He said he didn't understand me not wanting to be homeless.. how insensitive!! I work in customer service and as far as everything I have learned in this job.. Your supposed to help and appease the customer at all times!!! I was so disrespected by everything this dealership did!!! I wrote an email to the GM about everything and received no reply. You would think that he would be worried about a severely unhappy customer.. guess not!!! I DO NOT reccommend buying anything from this dealership!! Even if it is a new car! They will leave you high and dry and be rude to you when the vehicle starts heading downhill.

The overall experience with this dealership was terrible!

Again...

What you want is free warranty service even though you didn't pay for a warranty! I want a 600 mph Citation X but only paid for an MU-2. I guess I'm stuck with what I paid for since I did not yet BUY the 750. Maybe I should file a report here too!

UPDATE

AUTHOR: Angel M - ()

POSTED: Saturday, April 06, 2013

I had filed the BBB complaint before Mr. Wheaton even emailed me back or offered to call me. He also proceeded to say that I was extorting the company through social media, when in fact I was simply warning other people of their less than ethical tactics. I really just wanted him/the company to take responsibility for the P.O.S vehicle that they sold me. But since Mr. Wheaton and his company are so self righteous they wouldn't do that.

It is so sad that a company that is supposed to be "reputable" could treat someone so poorly. I really hope that no one ever has to go through what I did with them. As far as denying the extended warranty and protection I had to do so because I could only afford the smaller payment because the interest rate on the loan is 10.34% WITH A COSIGNER who has EXCELLENT  credit.

I'm pretty sure that they inflated the interest rate on the loan and are taking some off the top, I wouldn't be surprised.  I am paying down the loan as best as I can and selling the piece of junk, of course it was appraised at $1500 by a dealership so it will probably blow up before I can pay it off. Thanks for selling me a total P.O.S Ourisman!!! Oh and you should choose your words more carefully in the future, you sound totally illogical and uneducated.

Ourisman Honda Response

AUTHOR: Ourisman Honda Volkswagen - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 14, 2013

My name is Edward Wheaton, I am the General Manager of Ourisman.  When this consumer had an issue under warranty we covered the maintenance and necessary repairs, 100%.  When this consumer was in Florida with the vehicle, we sent payment to the dealership there while the vehicle was covered under warranty, 100%.

When this customer purchased the vehicle, we strongly suggested a protection plan (some refer to as a service contract or extended warranty).  She refused and took the option for the lower payment.  We even have the customer sign a document saying they decline that protection and waive their rights and benefits to it.

This customer contacted me a little over a week ago and I offered to look into this and see if there was anything I could do to help even though 9 months has now passed.  Prior to me calling her back on a Wednesday as I promised, she began a letter writing campaign and contacted the Better Business Bureau, etc. and social media attacks.  She did not even wait for my call to see what help I could offer, if any.

It's regretful that she has taken this approach.  I have tried over and over to explain that we cannot cover maintenance and repairs outside of warranty.  I am sorry that this has ended this way.

Now that you have signed for it, you are stuck.

Yes, it sounds like you made a bad deal. I agree that paying $6000 for a $1500 car is a terrible thing to do. But, the time to negotiate the price is before you sign anything, not afterward. Before you sign the contract you have the power. After you sign the contract, the power switches to the car dealer/seller. Remember that next time you find yourself looking to buy anything.

Am I defending the car dealer? No way. I think most of them will try to take advantage of every buyer. It is up to us, as consumers, to research the dealership and the vehicle before we ever step foot in the place to purchase. Know the dealers reputation, learn about the vehicle and its value and get an independent inspection for the vehicle you are buying.

But, now that you are stuck in this car loan, pay it off or sell the car and pay it off so you don't end up hurting yourself more financially. Pay for the repairs you need and learn the lesson about dealers, salesman and promises so you don't fall for it the next time. Thank your lucky stars that the vehicle is only $6000 and not $26,000 - better to learn the lesson now.

I'm not joking

I think that some kind of agreement should be made to remedy this situation. I owe $6000 on a car worth $1500 and needs $1500+ in repairs tell me how I didn't get downright screwed by this place? Not to mention the disrespect I was treated with!
