If you did soooo much research then you would have known that Scentura Creations and world of perfume is not one in the same! First of all Scentura Creations is still up and running where it has been for the past 35 yrs in Atlanta, GA. Even though both companies sell perfume and cologne all your little links were about Scentura and not World of Perfume. I used to work for Scentura Creations for a longtime and all of the reports are warrented. They were horrible individuals. At least Billy pays his people for the work that they do. What you put into it you get back. I ahd a friend that worked for Billy and she got payed every week for the production that she did. When you were told that you would be doing sales and you knew that sales was not for you then you should have quit then and there. The definition of scam is giving money towards something and getting nothing in return. If you didnt pay for the product upfront or was asked to make an investment then how is it a scam? In this day and age doing sales is the only way you are getting paid. Wether its selling perfume, vacumes, or food from a roach coach. Dont hate on people because they are trying to better their lives. Just to let you know as well every company in the world works off of a pyramid skimatic as a basis of their business. So if IBM, MICROSOFT, and APPLE must be scams too. Even the so called REAL job that you have or these many years later HAD!

I don't think I'm missing much about passing up an opportunity to peddle cheap knock off perfumes on the streets and parking lots !! Why doesn't your ad  describe the job correctly ?? It should say " We want people to peddle cheap knock off perfume , there is no salery . YOU WILL be going door to door , we DON"T have any contracts with any department stores EX: Macy's or JC Penny's cause the stuff is junk."

I have a guy right now that's 21 years old and just bought a brand new clk benz... another just got a new infinity coupe.. we have tons of success stories ... These clowns are in Slidell, LA right now. I responded to an adverstisement I saw on NOLA.com. The advertisement stated that they were looking for customer service reps 15-20 immidiate openings, please call 985 639 3587.

I called and talked to 'Stephanie'. After asking me a couple of questions 1) Do you have reliable transportation 2) Are you available to work from 9:00 till 6:00 PM? She invited me to come in to fill out an application. When I arrived at the location, 1080 Old Spanish Trail suite 2,the radio was on, I asked for Stephanie and proceded to fill out a job application. To my surprise, she did a mini interview and stated that they were looking for managers and invited me to come back for a second interview where I would meet the owner. Stephanie told me to bring a notebook and a pen for the second interview. The office looked like a new office, folding chairs all over the place and a sign up on the wall that reads ' Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but about learning to dance in the rain' or something like that. The place looked fishy right from the get go.

Second Interview

The appointment was for 11 AM. I arrived aroung 10:40. There were other people waiting for the so called second interview. I could hear very loud rap music playing in the background. 'Whatever' I thought to myself. Stephanie instructed all of the applicants to go back to another room to wait for the 'owner' of the company. We went to that room where the music was playing SO LOUD. There were about 15 of us. We were waiting to see what was next since we really did not had any information on what the company was about , all we knew was that they were looking for managers.

So in comes the owner, a clown with a mohawk and a bunch of tatoos named 'Ernest'. Hmmm. We were instructed by Stephanie to write down everything he says and to laugh at his stupid jokes. He said a lot of things but the bottomline was that the 'company' sells rendition fragances, he needed managers, there was an 8 week long managerial training period.If we were chosen after the second interview we would make $200-$400 weekly during training depending on our performance. Once we became managers the least we would make was $30,000 a year. After he was done yapping away ( no time to ask him any questions) he was going to pick the chosen ones out of the group after asking everyone one or two dumb questions he was reading out of a paper. Anyway, I was one of the chosen ones, and was asked to leave the room with Stephanie. I went to another room with Stephanie. She gave me a sheet for a background check and said to bring it in on Monday 11AM for orientation, I was expected to leave quickly after that, as everyone that got chosen.

On my way home

I kept thinking that this opportunity was too good to be true. My skeptism helped me. I kept searching online for similar jobs using the words scam because needless to say, the name they are using for their company was nowhere to be found online. I found this website and all of your postings. That is why I decided to write this. If it was not for people like all of you we would not have the tools to figure out scams before we jump into them. Thank you all! I am sorry about the time I wasted on these clowns but it could have been much worst. Thanks!

Anyway...

I'm over the age of 25 years old, and have in my past made some bad business decisions. It makes me a cautious person by nature, but I'm also the type that listens to a side of the story until such time as a rational, qualified decision can be made.

I had been without internet for a week on account of needing to have my services moved to my new place, and other things of that nature. Meanwhile, I'd responded to a "Free Beer" ad that I'd seen in the paper, and was called in to World Perfume, or what it is now being called Outwest Operations Inc.

Last night, a bad feeling still in my gut, I sat down to try and figure out what it was that was making me so uncomfortable. I'd been talking about the job with various friends and family since I went in for the first interview, and had been filing away their thoughts on the subject, but so far no one had offered me any of this mystic "negativity" that Billy and Eric seemed to believe I was receiving. I think the reason that none of my friends or family were being negative toward me is because they knew in the end, I was wise enough to make a smart decision.

Looking back on what has been said in this and other reports previously, I think Brainwashing is the best word for it. They assure you over and over that they're not an MLM or a Pyramid scheme (which I think was my first indication that they might in fact be one). A note here to all you young kids hoping to get rich before the age of thirty - if someone has to assure you that they're not a Pyramid scheme, that's because they probably are.

I didn't believe what the men were saying about how much money I would make - I sure wanted to, I have high credit card debt, and it would be fabulous for me to make $50K a year in sales. I won't go over the interview process again with everyone, suffice it to say, the first & second interviews and the orientation went EXACTLY as was listed by others.

What I wanted to provide instead was some food for thought.

Cults operate in exactly the same way as what this business is trying to do. They cut you off from your network of family and friends, convince you that they alone know what's best for you, and that they alone can provide the answers to everything you seek. They prey on the things that make us weak, the areas that we're most hurting in. Some cults are offer popularity, giving us promises that they can help people "fit in". This cult is monetary, they're telling you that you can be retired by 35, if you're just willing to put in 12 - 15 hour days, 7 days a week.

If you want to do a quick exercise in numbers - write this down! Take an average amount of hours that you personally work, for the sake of this math equation, I'll low ball the numbers - say you work 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. You're putting in 50 hours, right? Now, you're expected to sell 50 bottles a week, giving you an average of approximately 1 bottle per hour. And you make $5 from every bottle you sell. Now you're being paid UNDER the minimum wage. You're only making $5 an hour, and that's only IF you can sell one bottle per hour for 10 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Now, if you're still in the company, do the math with the hours that you actually put in.

Another red flag for me, funny enough is the photocopied W-2 they handed me. Independent Contractors don't file a W-2. They file an Independent Contractor's Tax form, which I believe is called the 1040. Independent contractor forms are generally NOT provided by the office in which you will be offering your services. The offices will instruct you as to what information they need before they can pay you, which will lead you to the correct forms to fill out. W-2 forms are for EMPLOYEES. Actual, honest to goodness employees who are entitled to benefits, and compensation for work related injuries and all sorts of other things.

Also, I would never give my bank account number to a company that was not writing me an actual paycheck. Not a personal check, or a money order, or even a cashier's check. The ONLY way a company will ever get my bank account number is if they are taking taxes out of my check for me, and depositing the remaining money into my account. If you EVER see someone asking for your bank account number on an application form, do. not. give it to them. If they say they require it, ask them what for. Businesses are required to offer you a form of payment that does not include direct deposit. Be it a credit union account, a pay card, a paycheck, or whatever else companies have these days.

If you're very young, perhaps just out of high school, which seems to be the demographic that these people feed on, then please take this into account: there is a very big difference between Negativity, and Solidarity. Negativity is if someone tells you that you will never amount to anything. Solidarity is when someone tells you that they believe another person is ruining your life. To use a very current example, there's a phrase "bros before ..." well you know, I don't want to swear and risk invalidating my response here.

The reason that phrase came into being was because there were girlfriends who were dangling promises that they had no intention of keeping in front of their boyfriends. Their boyfriends were in turn shunning their friends, and the friends were telling the boyfriend that the girl is no good.

Likewise, these people are dangling money that they have no intention of paying to you in front of your noses. You are told to shun your friends and family, and what your friends are doing is trying to get you to see that your quality of life is suffering so someone else can drive a nice car.

On the subject of nice cars, I have this to say. The last place I worked, the President of the business drove a very nice car. I'm not sure what the make was, I'm not a car person. But that doesn't mean that *I* drove a nice car. I don't know what sort of car Billy drives, I've never personally seen him step from the door of a vehicle. But don't let someone else's wealth make you they have any intention of sharing it with you.

Drug dealers operate similarly, and it is my thinking that the business meetings are roughly similar.

Last bit of food for thought. In the off chance that you have never been to another interview before in your life, I would like to tell you that they don't often play movies to entertain you before your interview or orientation begins. And IF they did, they would be far more careful about the selection of movie that they were choosing. The offensive, unprofessional (okay, extremely funny) movies that these people are showing are just another part of the brainwashing. They get you laughing, they put you off your guard, and they turn off the parts of your mind that think. TV is mindless, and it produces a state of mindlessness that is needed for suggestion to work.

I don't know if Billy and Eric believe their pitch. I don't know if they think they really are offering the best opportunity on the planet. Perhaps they've brainwashed themselves to think so, or perhaps they're just great con artists. It's hard to say. It's like trying to decide if those televangelists that play on TV in the early morning honestly believe they're going to save your soul, or if they're just out for your cash. It's a fine line, but in the end, it still results in the people who were taken in my the con/cult/scheme being the ones that suffer the most.

You have one life on this earth, and one chance to be young. If you enjoy being in sales, go look for a job in a mall. Remember to be polite, and offer to fill out an application, even if the place says they're not hiring at that moment. I've seen a lot of people new to the job market who will just walk into a place and say "You hiring?" I used to work for a big retail chain as a manager, if someone had said that to me, I might have given them an application, but I would have made a note that they were very abrupt.

Please think about the fact too, that losing the trust of your friends and family is something you'll have to fight very hard to get back. These are the people who would do something for you without any payment needed, who will probably end up taking you back in once the soul has been sucked out of you by 7 day work weeks.

Please be careful, and remember that if something feels wrong in your heart, or is causing you undue amounts of stress, it really isn't worth your time. Even if it IS a real job or a real opportunity (which this is most assuredly is not).

IF you truly tried to work for OWO or any of the other offices in Las Vegas, you would know that it is a legitimate business with so much potential. I work for OWO, and have never felt better about myself and what I am capable of. This is the greatest group of motivators, and hard working people that I have ever had the opportunity to work with. Everyone gets along, and everyone helps to motivate each other all day every day. I had the opportunity to go to California this last week on Crew, and it was such an inspiration to see what we as a working family are capable of. I use the term family because I feel as if I have been a part of the team since day one. No one judges you on how you look, or talk. They give you the tools and the guides to be the best that you can be. You have the chance of a lifetime here at OWO. You can own your own business!!!! Who wouldnt want that chance? Yes, we do spend lots of time outside, but how is that any different from a cart pusher at walmart, or a sacker at Albertsons? We are alll working hard, OWO just chooses the best way to get the word out to customers on our product.

Back the hell off all you ill-wishers. Just because you cant take the heat, doesnt mean that we should all leave the kitchen. This business is not for everyone, but thanks to Billy, Eric, and everyone else, I have the motivation to succeed. Im not going to feel sorry for you just because you dont.

I sent a resume via an internet job board and low and behold the company called Innovative Management aka something I didn't catch on the phone - called. I got the company name from the name on the door. They wanted me for an interview an hour later. As I am looking for a position and this sounded great.

It happened exactly the same. As soon as I walked into an empty office (clue #1), sat in a room with some chairs and two others. Nothing much on the walls except a list of locations and the company name. Filled in a paper and then called in for my 5 minute interview (clue #2). "Trinity" who actually looked like she belong on a street corner (clue #3) went into great detail on how great the company was etc etc but not much about the job (clue #4). By clue #5 I realized this was BS. She decided that I should come back on Friday at 12noon for my next interview. Said very little about the training, except that you went at your own pace (ok that was clue #5).

When I got home I immediately started my research - gut feeling was confirmed. They spin a great story, don't get sucked in.

This is truely a Buisiness opportunity for the contractors that become associated and clomplete the Free Training provided by OWO Inc. It is hard work which provides rewards.

I find it interesting that the postings on this websight against Billy and OWO Inc are posted ANONYMOUSLY! Such postings obviously are intended to achieve malicious goals probabaly to transfer blame from the former contractor sales person for their own inability to succeed in business.
Please find out for yourself what this business opportunity can provide to you.

Thank God, I found this report right before I left for the training. I just moved here and he totally took advantage of me. How nieve does this company this we are? I had a feeling that it was a a scam when I first called and I was put on hold and there was music playing. I went because I really really need a job. When I got to the office it did not seem too successful and the girl at the front desk seemed really young. No real job would interview you and another person at the same time. The company, officially named World Perfume, operates in many areas under many different business names to avoid too much bad press. The local company name --such as 'Waterfront Design' in Salt Lake City -- is a name the local distribution manager has decided to use for their operations in a certain area. A quick web search will tell you why. The name 'Waterfront Design' is generic enough to disallow any curious soul to do a search on the name, but search for 'World Perfume' and you will find hundreds of horror stories about this company. These people lie for a living. What they do is at best unethical, and at worst illegal.

Your training manager will state that World perfume sells cologne and perfume 'door to door to businesses'.

The training manager will fail to tell you that the majority of your time is ACTUALLY spent trespassing in Wal Mart, Target, and grocery store parking lots, selling perfume to shoppers as they enter and exit the stores, until you are kicked out by management. This 'door to door to businesses' comprises of 78% of World Perfume's sales.

Police officers DO NOT TOLERATE solicitation on the streets. Business-to-business is a gray area in law enforcement, and if you are found selling on the street, you will be ticketed and possibly arrested. County and City ordinances vary on this topic, and it would do you good to check with the laws of your city. Your office owners need you to make street sales, so they will not warn you about possible consequences.

The training manager will tell you to tell your customers that these colognes and perfumes are original from the company, when they are in fact imitations (World Perfume uses the words 'renditions') In the group interview, I asked the manager of the Salt Lake office, Joe Maner if we were supposed to say these colognes were the originals or imitations, Mr. Maner told the group that we were supposed to tell our customers that these were originals, not imitations, an obvious lie. (I have this response on audio tape.)

They may have approached you in a parking lot, selling designer perfume knock-offs. But it's the perfume peddlers themselves who many times feel betrayed.

Shelby Sillen had spotted a job ad that read, "Managers ... first time okay, for sales distribution center."

"I went expecting a management job and they did nothing but lie to me," says Sillen.

At an office for EOE Management, on Forest City Road, she got the job as manager.

"They promised us that we would be making $30,000 a year," she says.

Action 9 intern Jessica Salitsky heard that when she was hired. Then, the first day, the new "managers" were told they had to "survive" boot camp, selling perfume to learn the business.

"Within four weeks, what were you going to have?" Action 9's Todd Ulrich asks Salitsky.

"Our own location. There were going to be two managers and we were going to manage 10 to 15 sales people," she says.

But first they were independent contractors, selling perfume eight hours a day to strangers on the street. There was no paycheck, but they could make a few bucks profit on each bottle sold, if they could sell the perfume for more than $20.

Eventually, recruits like Sillen realized they were being hustled as free labor.

"They're pimping you, basically. They have you out on the corner making money for them," she says.

It's the same kind of tactics Action 9 first uncovered eight years ago. Then, the company was Transworld Creations, owned by David Babb, who advertised for $35,000 "managers." Two years ago, published reports had David Babb running the same operation in Missouri.

Today in Central Florida, it's EOE Management, and recruits like Shelby Sillen claim they were trained to lie and tell people they just left a perfume show and had to sell at cost.

"You're lying to these people. You were never at a perfume show. This is what they taught you in training," Sillen explains.

When another woman from EOE approached us, while we were undercover, to make a sale, suddenly the perfume "knock-offs" were the actual designer fragrances.

"And this is really Jean Paul?" Ulrich asks.

"Yes, the true ode de perfume. The oil based," the salesperson replies.

Consumers got hustled in parking lots and no job seekers that we talked to ever got paychecks as managers.

Michelle Andrews runs EOE Management. So does "Monica," who won't disclose her last name.

They refused to speak with Channel 9.

EOE Management was opened by Kendall Management in Casselberry. It too runs ads for managers, then sends you out to sell perfume.

All the companies sell perfume made by Scentura Creations in Atlanta, which says it has nothing to do with the way its independent contractors do business.

No one we talked to who responded to the ad was actually hired. Instead, they were trained to set up another office to run ads for managers, who will actually sell perfume in parking lots.

ANOTHER SCAM OFFICE IN LAS VEGAS IWS

Beware of this company! Hester will tell you that you only have to sell one night to your friends and family (FFAR) but it actually ends up being days of going out in your car, with perfume and cologne in your trunk, selling it on the street illegally. They actually teach you to lie to people to try to make a sale.

They don't want you to listen to any outside sources (friends and family) about anything negative about this so-called organization. They try to suck you in and want you to work all the time, despite what they tell you. You call the ad thinking it's Monday thru Friday, 9-5. Well it also includes Saturdays, and during the week you're there well past 5:00.

Becareful, especially if you're young. They will try to suck you in. Think about it-you go in to this office and there's very loud music blaring. Seriously, how professional can this place be? If something sounds too good to be true, it is just that. Hester also says you will get paid $200-400 a week through training, also not true. I didn't stick out the week, so needless to say I didn't get a dime, but I know someone who did, and all she got was $50.

They will use you and try to suck all your energy out of you. Because I actually care about people, I don't want to see good people wasting a week or even a day of your time, when you could be finding a real job.

Im going through a lawsuit right now with Extreme Northeat a company of scentura creations. And the Cherry Hill Police cant do anything to shut the company down.

This is because these companies dont have to be registered with the towns or cities they're located in. Why I have no idea. But I do believe they have to be registered with the better business bureau. And of course they dont pay taxes. I wasnt handed a W2 or whatever the tax form is for sales people. Usually with all the other ACTUAL jobs Ive had... the day of orientation I was handed all these forms to fill out.

Whats even more amazing is that the police arent really trying to do anything to lock up the jerk who threw me into a wall.

....OH YEAH...HOW ABOUT THE IRS...THAT ONE IS INTERESTING...Cause during the "group int" you STATED "IT IS TAX FREE"...AGAIN ILLEGAL!!!!!

I just moved hear from Cali . I needed work so i called an ad in the paper went in for a interview the company told me that they were expanding and to come for a second interview. i came back and billy explained everything to me in the interview. He said to write everything down so if i had any questions on how i got paid it would be in my notes. He EXPLAINED THAT THE FIRST THING YOU HAD TO DO TO GET ANY MONEY WAS TO SELL 50 BTLS FOR TWO WEEKS. AND YOU MAKE BETWEEN $5 and $1o per blt on what you sold. so that would be any ware from $250 -$500 cash . and he said to write cash down because you would make money in cash.

So these people explain for 2 hours all the facts sorry for the people that DONT PAY ATTENTION IN THE MEETING. Anyway i payed attention and did a great job for my self and made a ton of money . Now i have been in the company for several months and getting promoted to my own office . i am fired up .This place is Great and anyboby that thinks different is a HATER.. and mikey billy never had anything to do with world perfume. they just supplied him product. and johnny did teach billy this business . The johnny you found was his son!!! look that up your just stupid ... When I came in I knew it was a marketing company from the very first phone call and I quote "up here we are an international wholesale company." Plus there was perfume everywhere. Put two and two together!

Thanks for responding. I am so sorry you had to bear more than a day with that loser! I can't believe they haven't already been shut down. He'd better watch out though, i.e. Nevada Dept of Business Licenses, the IRS, and any other Nevada Departments that apply to his BS!!! Yea, they're going to find out real soon and start investigating! I've talked to QUITE a bit of ex-employees and ex-candidates who want in on this. All I can say to everyone is to voice what happened to them because the more word gets out, HE WILL FALL! I had the exact same experience with Nolan last summer and also filed a report about it here. I ended up telling him off before leaving, which I guess not too many job-seekers do. It's a shame he hasn't been shut down and run out of town yet. I hate job scammers like this! How about writing letters to the R.J. until they pull the Scamtura classified ads? I plan on doing it soon. Good luck with the hunt for a real job.

So, after researching ALL DAY yesterday, I found there is another CONFIRMED office in Las Vegas called DVA Inc. They may go by DVAI Inc. The office is located on Tropicana.
