My wife and 2 kids and I visited Costa Rica in June and we reserved a one week stay at Pacific Edge inDominical and when we arrived the place was very dirty so we tried to check out and go find another place but the owner George said that we would have to pay for the whole week since we had reserved the whole week. Yhis was such a shock and we could not afford to pay for 2 places so we bit the bullet and stayed in this filthy place.I wish this was the worst that happened but days later when boarding the plane in San Jose our 8 yr old daughter asked if George was gone be back in the US when we arrived and we said no and she said good. We asked ..you don't like George? replied that he had hurt her. We asked how? She began to tell a story that you just never wanna here as a parent. We got off the plane that moment headed back to Dominical which is 3hrs from the.airport and went to the police. The police in Costa Rica were useless saying if they didnt see the crime then they cant do anything. We went to the embassy and they tried hard to help us but could not get the Costa Rican government to do anything! We stayed in country for a month trying to get justice and it never came. During this monthe the embassy gave us additional info on this individual. Turns out George left the UK 15 yrs ago to escape being prosicution for a child molestaion case and has never been extradited cause costa rica didn't have a treaty with the UK when the crime occured. We could not get justice for our daughter and we are still fighting everyday but at this point we thought it to be important to warn all those out there with kids to not even think of taking them to Pacific Edge. One reason we chose Pacific Edge was because they had a day care and no other bead and breakfast or hotel in the area did. Now we know why they have a day care and thinking of how.many kids have been exposed to it frightens me greatly.

Truth About Pacific Edge Dominical Costa Rica

For the past 5 years, I have been a frequent visitor/guest of the Pacific Edge in Dominical. I don't know what the author's motive was to write such a report, but I know for certain that there is not one shred of truth to it. Here's why:
Pacific edge definitely does not have a "day care". As a matter of fact, there is a 'no children' policy since they are wanting to create a romantic and tranquil atmosphere for their guests. Something that has attracted me to Pacific Edge.
The cabins and facilities at Pacific Edge have always been very clean and professionally maintained - no one in their right mind would say that it is "filthy". There is hardly a leaf in the pool!
George and his wife have been in Costa Rica for over 20 years and George has not lived in the UK for much longer than that - not the 15 years that the author stated. George is an outstanding person whom I have gotten to know quite well over the past 5 years. I can attest to his good character and know that he would never do anything inappropriate toward a child or other person.
