I received a delinquent notice in the mail for a ticket that was never posted on my car about expired tags. The tags on my car are current and always have been. I was able to contact the office in order to try and correct this, after informing them that my registration was current and the ticket was wrongfully issued they told me that this was a case of here say, the issuing cop vs. me.
I decided on visting a CHP office in hopes of "correcting" the ticket, after a quick inspection the office stamped and signed the ticket and said to mail it back. Shortly after I received another delinquent notice, I called the parking violation office back, their automated phone service said to disregard the notice. Months passed before receiving anything else, but a few weeks ago another delinquent notice arrived, and what was originally a $60 fine that should have been corrected is now $120 dollars! and their office is now only an automated system.

Vehicle Information Report

Send a request to DMV for a VIR (Vehicle Information Report). It would show that you have had continuous registration and registration was current at the time of the citation. Then request (in writing) for a refund from this agency. There are too many agencies like this that are holding vehicles and their registration hostage. They make it difficult for people to dispute the citations and people are paying rather than arguing their case.
