My granddaughter was browsing the net when a pop up came up. It said I had numerous worns, trojans, and viruses. Even said that they were in my google tool bar some differant exe's. It mimiced my microsoft virus program in looks. I thought that was what was going on and I needed to purchase the license to remove the virus's. So, I paid the 79.95 for "lifetime license" It then removed the trojans etc.

I then went into add/remove programs, and couldn't find what supposedly downloaded to my computer. The Icon in the lower right tray also disappeared. I then went onto the net looking for what it said it was...couldn't find a thing.

I did find this web site, read numerous people who did the same thing. I imediately emailed them sayin I was going to report them to the proper authorities and that they were bogus and I wanted my money back...they promptly said they canceled the "licence" and were going to reverse the charges. Charges were reversed within a matter of a couple hours.

Whoever is doing this needs to be caught. I will be monitering our checking account to make sure we don't get fraudulant charges. It should be a crime to invade someone computer like that!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Disable ALL "Pop-UPS", especially if you have kids on the computer!

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 27, 2010

"PC-Bug Repair" IS the virus! They infect your system via clicking on that pop-up, and then charge you to fix the infection! Pop Ups are a huge security risk, not to mention just being a nuisance. You should ALWAYS block ALL pop-ups on your computer. Any legitimate business who utilizes po-ups should hire some new college boys. There is NEVER a legitimate need for a pop-up.

I urge everyone to use a PREMIUM anti virus / security program and keep it updated on a daily basis and do a full system scan no less than once per week.

To the OP, if you are relying on any Microsoft / Windows security program, that is the root of your problem. Get a GOOD third party protection program.
