Stay away from PC Gecko.
I brought my xbox 360 to them in mid january after it began to show the RROD. I was not hopeful of it being repaired since I had already fixed it once. But I figured I would give them a try. When I dropped off my console they said that they may be able to repair but it didnt look good.
I then received a call and was told that they were moving toward the next step which I think was called a reball. They told me that it might help the motherboard because it was too bent. I was then asked for my credit card info.
At first I was told they would inform me of my 360 in a few days. Often times I would call, and big surprise the person I would need to talk to would not be there.
After looking at my credit card statement I saw that the number they were using was the same as a company called Tech Titans that handled tech repair, they actually changed their name.
After several of my calls were ignored I made a surprise visit to PC Gecko. They told me that my console was shot but they would try the reball anyway. Me being the fool I was, thought these guys were really helping me out. After they came to the conclusion it was a lost cause, they misplaced it.
Not only did they not fix my Xbox 360, they lost it too. They told me they were looking for it as we spoke. I called again a couple months later, they told me an intern was going through them one by one. After calling them in mid june, they still didnt find it. I gave them my console in January, and it is now July.
This could only mean a few things
(A) My 360 is really good at hiding
(B) They sold it
(C) They are incompetent
I honsetly dont know which one I prefer.
It was also agreed that I would pay for the repaired console when I picked it up, instead I was called for my credit card number on 1/30/11.
Another breach on our agreed terms is that it would be returned in 5 days.
BTW: I have read comments, reviews and even gotten phone calls from other people who never got back their 360s, PS3s, and laptops.
If you skipped the huge portion of text above (I dont blame you), just know this;
1. PC Gecko has had my console since January
2. It is now July
3. They dodge your phone calls
4. They have changed names
5. This is not an isolated incident
6. It could happen to you
And number 7, stay away from PC Gecko.
