I was billed for people pc internet service for I believe 4 months of service. I had filled out an appliction online for my cousin. I decided to pay the 5.95 for the first month since I was excited and wanted to help him get set up and online with his first computer. Id gone home to get a dial up service cd. Then decided to look online for the prices etc. I went ahead and began to sign him up at people pc for $9.95 or maybe $10.95 per month at half price for 3 months. I called and got his address and info for his account. There were problems since I wasnt the person getting the account so instead of submitting the app. I called people pc. The agent took tyhe information and told me I couldnt pay for him like that. He said they had to bill my cousin, the account holder. I agreed and closed out of people pc online.

The agent was supposed to call my cousins houuse to assist us with getting online. I waited for the call because the landline phone would be busy if I tried to do it without the agent. He never called. We called and tried to do it and the agent that helped didnt get us online. We did the autiomated asistance still no luck. We finally gave up after a day or two. When the people pc software cd came along with a bill for the $5.95, Dale already deciderd not to do it he was frustrated upset with it all and didnt even want the computer anymore! That was that. The account never really ever was activated as you go online to create your account and activate from the way I understood it. The service never was used and people pc agents were not helpful.

Now 4 months later I see a charge for 4 months people pc internet service on my debit card! I never submitted the app. I didnt give the agent who took the account infor for my cousin my credit info either! I didnt realize after I got billed for that 1st month (which after my cousin was billed as the agent had said I absolutely forgot about it) thatthey didnt have my credit info so how could they bill me?

Today when I finally got a supervisor on the phone I told her about that and she whispered it was successful! I was so angry! I knew without a doubt they still got my info even though the form was deleted and used it! Plus I was told I couldnt do that and I was having problems trying to do that and is why I had to call!

Theres no service being used, the account holder address of non service anf the account holder isnt me, yet they bill me.? Then why didnt they bill me on month 2, 3, 4 etc? Thats obvious! They knew if they billed me for no service no account etc., that I would catch it and maybe on the next bill. So they waited 4 months! T If it was supposed to be paid in bi-monthly,quarterly or something then they wouldnt have only billed 30 days to start with.

Anyway the agents today said that someone in a question I think a sister? had called to reactivte the account. I got angry and said No one knows my credit card number and pin they could not have put in on my card! If the account that never was had to be REACTIVATED then it must have also been cancelled! Theres another blatent obvious LIE!The agent and the supervisor told me they couldnt refund my money! I cant believe they steal from me, invade my privacy, steal my identity and act as though its a bisuiness thing and so what I cant do anything about it!

I want a lawyer, I am going to file identity theft at the police department. I NEVER authorized nor submitted my credit card information to people pc. Their site took the information probably keylogging people and kept it without my submission or permission. They never had authorization or a contract with me, in fact there is no account and it was never activated!

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!
