like you guys i also got a call from a girl name chris and told me that i was approved for a credit card with a credit limit of $2500 but a $299 activation fee is required. what i did was i checked the company in the internet and what i found was this rip-off site and read all the reports regarding that company. so, what did was i cancelled my application when someone called me regarding the verification of the card. the only problem i'd already gave my checking account number. but as of now, they haven't took any money(and i hope they won't)from my account. my question is, is calling them that i don't wanna continue the credit card is enough to not take money from my account? i hope someone can help me!

I, like you, barely caught the lies in time. I called my bank and alerted them after reading all the info on this web site. They also said I should close the account as they still have the account number and authorization or something like that. I was able to go online and open a new account and transfer all my funds to that account. Best of luck.
