Yup this is the same SCAM you can read all over the internet about the BUY THREE TIRES GET ONE FREE scam at PEP BOYS. They draw you in with the Buy 3 get one nonsense. You go in and talk to the service manager and they say OK your good. You buy the tires, get the REBATE paperwork OR they say register online for it. Low and behold the website will not take the number on the REBATE FORM.
It says to call them directly - so that is what we do. They go on to say that since we did not get the instllation PACKAGE with ROAD HAZARD ( a bit over 100) that we do not get a rebate for the 4th tire. Oh surprize... They never once said that this is required. I got the package w/o road hazard which is a no no for the $$. Called and spoke with the manager and he said they always tell the customers about that requirement - they don't.
Here is the moral of that story - don't buy tires at Pep Boys on that deal. Even if you buy the required plan it STILL costs you MORE money to get less MONEY back. Bad business if you ask me. Google "buy three tires get one free scam" and see who comes up first. Yuppers PEPBOYS from all over the country same rotten scam!!
