I had recently moved to Trinity NC and needed to trade in a vehicle that I purchased from a company here in NC that when bankrupt. The company I purchased the truck from covered all vehicle repairs, so since they went bankrupt I had no vehicle maintenace coverage and needed another vehicle since this one was having issues. My husband and I went to Peters Auto Mall to just look to see what they had that we could afford. Of course no intentions of buying anything that day.

Any how after looking around and talking with the salesman we found a vehicle that would be great for not just for myself and husband but for our Triplets as well (in which 2 of them are autistic) . After going over the financial part, I mentioned if we could do close to $350. and the salesman said well after looking at things I needed to go up to about $425-$450. That was a stretch but duable. The dealership already took possession of the trade in vehicle at this point. The salesman and another man, of whom I foget what position he had, said well here take the vehicle to my husband ,since our children needed to be picked up at school. I of course have not signed any papers yet to indicate that the vehicle was ours. So while my husband went to get the kids, I was left to sign the papers. When I did it turned out the interest alone was about $250. from the bank, which was Chase Auto Finance. The amount of my payments were $600. I asked what do I do with that, I told the finance lady I wasnt told about that interest and she suggested I refinance. I felt like I didnt even have a choice since they had the old vehicle and my husband had the new one. I signed the papers and we drove off with the new vehicle. Prior to leaving we were told if there were any issues to bring back to Peters Auto Mall. We did have a warranty that stated we had to pay a $100.00 deductible and it covered numerous of things. However Peters Auto Mall stated to just bring it back to them and they would fix any issues. We did and some issues were addressed and others never fixed (such as power steering and transmission). We were told there were no issues. We did windup taking in to the Ford dealer and they said there was issue with the power steering and transmision (which was slipping since we bought it) but we didnt have no warranty anymore. We tried to refinance with Chase but they said we needed consecutive payments. We were making them as hard as it was, maybe not on the exact date but they were being paid.

Then I needed another vehicle so I went to a Chevy Dealer who I told what payment I wanted and they worked with me and went with Ally Financial to finance this vehicle. After further review I called Peters Auto Mall to see if they could refinace the truck we purchased from them, with Ally. I was told they could but I would have to trade the truck back in and them buy it again. Pay all the fees again as well. I have continued to try to refinance the truck with other fiancial companies but they wouldnt because what is owed on the truck and credit as well. I still paying this truck which has issues. I did get a call from Peters Auto Mall stating that the person who traded in "the truck I had, want to buy it back" and if we could come in and they would help us get in to another vehicle. I thought it was odd, but my husband and I went in to see what they could offer. When we went there it turned out to be a scam to get us in there. My credit is not great these days since I am trying pay this truck that I got basically lied and scammed into. The salesman that day of course pulled my credit for which I thought was trying to give the previous owner his truck back. When your credit is pulled it goes against your credit as well. Any how he told us thater was nothing he could do for us , due the credit.

After that day I still got calls from Peters Auto Mall about coming in. I spoke to own of the representatives that called me and explained to her the whole thing about what happened to me when I first purchased the truck. She said well Im sorry, we will just take your name of the list. It makes me how many other people or families Peters Auto Mall has done this to.

So as of today I work crazy hours to cover bills, in which the truck in the main issue bill I have due to the interest they have stuck me with. Of course I continued to try to refinance but chase said no and the last time I tried which was this year, they told me no again since the vehicle is over 5 years old. They dont finance or refinance vehicles over 5 years old. I continue to struggle to pay as I am a family with one income since my husband is a stay at home dad since as I stated we have triplets and 2 of which are autistic. I wifh Peter and Chase Auto could walk a day in our shoes and see if they feel happy if they were taken advantage/ lied to. Thank you Peter and Chase Auto, hope you all have food on your table and clothes on your children. Have a great Holiday...

Financing....

AUTHOR: Tyg - (USA)

I know YOU THINK you are suave and financially capable. But the REALITY is that YOU ARE FINANCING!!!! Meaning YOU couldnt afford it even if you DID save!! So the dealership is at most at fault for finding someone who would take YOU with YOUR bad credit. So HOW in ANY stretch of the imagination is this the DEALERSHIPS FAULT for the FACT that YOU CANT AFFORD IT!!!!!All I see is the typical whinefest that POOR PEOPLE complain about. How UNFAIR it is that YOUR situation has changed and YOU still have to pay. That there are PROBLEMS with the USED CAR you have purchased and THEY didnt fix it for free for YOU!!!! You even try and use your own children to garner sympathy. Sorry your kids have problems but that has NOTHING to do with the fact that you agreed to ALL of this. YOU could have waited until you husband came back and had BOTH of you there. Kids or no kids, problems or no problems. THIS is on you for what YOU CHOSE TO DO!!!

Incredible Lack of Knowledge

Where was your husband in all this?

First of all, its not "issues"!  Its "PROBLEMS".

Secondly, you came in there with a set of financial requirements which YOU decided YOU could live with.  That was excellent.  However, when they presented their deal to you which was NOT within those requirements, what did you do?  You played doormat and went along and agreed.  Now you blame them when IN FACT, those were the terms YOU agreed to!  Now, this transmission problem.  Did you even bother to take this car on a test drive?  Was it slipping then?  If so and if all the other PROBLEMS were obvious before you bought the car, WHY DID YOU BUY IT?

One more point which provides all the answers.  By your direct words, you stated the interest was $250.  What does that mean?  If you're talking about APR, that figure is a percentage!

I think what's obvious is you didn't know what you were doing.  You went along with their deal even though it was NOT what you wanted.  That's YOUR fault, not theirs!
