I purchased a German Shepherd puppy and I also purchased the insurance policy from Pets Plus in May.  In October the dog developed an occasional limp and favored her right side. In November she was diagnosed with severe dysplasia in the right hip and moderate dysplasia in the left hip. her hip was so bad the only hope was for a hip replacment when she was full grown.  A temporary procedure would have to be performed  to hold her over till she was full grown.  We could not afford these surgeries. We gave her medications until we had to put her out of her mesery and put her down a month later.  I questioned what kind of breeders they are using.  I could not find any type of listing for the breeder listed in our paperwork, Korie Wengerd from PA.  Eventually Pets Plus refunded the purchase price and I was under the impression the insurance would reimburse the $1000 in vet bills.  After waiting a couple of months the insurance company declined the claim because the purchase price of the dog was refunded.  Pets Plus sold us a poorly bred dog and after all the grief and aggrivation we still spent over a $1000.00.  Don't believe anything Pets Plus tells you.
