Pharos Contrating, Inc. hired me to develop a new website for them in May of 2016. I was dealing with a Scott Heyser, Project Manager. The agreement was to develop a new website - and the payment would be split (half to start and half when the site launches). I made a lot of progress on the website and Scott Heyser asked me to launch the site because it was "already better than what they had" and I suppose he was getting pressured to show something. Scott Heyser is my friend's father, and so, giving him the benefit of the doubt, I launched the website before being paid as a courtesy.

Once the website was configured and styled, I asked Scott to please provide me with content and final changes to the so that we could move on because a lot of time was passing and no progress was being made after numerous attempts to meet with Scott to no avail. He kept mentioning that he had no time for me outside of regular work hours, and that he felt like giving up on the website. Scott clearly understood at the start that I would be working on this website after regular work hours because I have a full-time job and I cannot be working on his project while at my job.

I then asked Scott if he would prefer just to pay me for the work that I had done and we can call it a day.

This is when Scott proceeded to threaten me saying that "I better not push his buttons" and that he will "clear his desk to ruin my life", that he will "see me in court" and charge me with "blackmail". He even asked to see me in person, which made me fear or my safety - as being his son's friend, it would be fairly simple for Scott to find me. I did not wish to work with Scott anymore and simply asked him to pay me for the work I had done and find someone else to continue to work on the website. He said he would rather take me to court than to pay me a measly $512.

His behavior was very confusing and disturbing to me, as all I did was ask Scott to please help me finish the website so that I can be paid and move on. After a huge argument with Scott, he promised to pay me for the work that I had done so far and we agreed that we would prefer not to work with each other from that point forward. Scott promised to have me paid that Friday.

Two weeks went by and finally I emailed him asking what happened to the invoice and why it had not been paid. He then proceeded to threaten me again saying that I better get a lawyer and that I was a POS, etc. He then proceeded to lock me out of the website and changed my personal admin information so that I could not access it. At this point I decided that I should not be speaking with Scott and I called the company he works for, Pharos Contracting, Inc. instead.

I spoke with Susan Lins on the phone and she was very pleasant. I explained the situation and she said that Scott's behavior is no way a reflection of Pharos Contracting and that I should not believe that type of behavior is acceptable from them. I told her that I appreciated her kindness and that I'd be happy to train them on how to update the website but that I would prefer to be paid for the work that I had completed thus far. Mind you, I was not charging them the full invoice... only half of the remainder, although 90% of the website was completed.

Susan had the owner of the company, John Gazonas give me a call. He explained that I would not have to work with Scott again but that he would like for me to complete the website. I told him this was fine but that I prefer to be paid for the work that I had done and then move on from there. He agreed and said he would be calling me the next day to introduce me to the person I would be working with.

A day went by, and nothing. A week, and nothing. A month, and all I heard from John was that he had an emergency he was dealing with but he would be reaching out to me shortly. Another two weeks went by and I emailed John and Susan several times and left a number of voicemail messages asking them to please reach out to me about the invoice. They never responded or gave me any kind of update. This morning I left another (and final) voicemail for Susan advising her that I need to hear back from them or I will be forced to share my experience on Ripoff Report.

So, there you have it. This has been my horrible experience working with Pharos Contracting, Inc. The invoice wasn't very high... and even then they basically say 'screw this guy' and essentially stole a website from me; a website that was not supposed to be on their servers until I had been paid in full; a website that they are benifiting from. Scott Heyser still works at Pharos Contracting, Inc.; even after threatening me they keep him on payroll and act as if this type of behavior is allowed and acceptable.

At this point I know I will not be paid for the work that I did. All I can do is warn other people about the challenges they may encounter when working with Pharos Contracting, Inc.

As of today 9/27/2016 Susan has contacted me to pay me for half of the invoice that I sent her. This is great news and I am glad to know they plan on paying me. Now I am just waiting for the other half of the payment owed to me.
