These morons have been desperatly trying to suck me into their scam. At first they started calling about 3 times a day 2 different phone numbers which I will list all of them below. I would answer and they would quickly hang up. Annoyed I just brused it off. Then they started calling 4 or 5 times a day, same thing I would answer they would hang up. I just started not answering the phone when I seen their numbers show up.

Last week when they had called for the 6th time that day I answered and began screaming into the phone. The jack*** on the other end got real stupid on me and said "uuuuh sorry wrong number" and hung up. At this point I was infuriated. I called back several times trying at the very least to talk to someone who could remove my number from their list. Of course no answer. Well I couldn't keep the idiots on the phone long enough to get two words in. So I started researching these numbers that were showing up on my caller id. Still having no idea why they were calling me.

I found this on a reverse phone number search.
(727) 530-7071
Glass, George & Janet
3200 Cove Cay Dr
Pinellas Park, FL 33781

More interesting was the fact that the same number was listed to:
Granitz, Don & Jean
3200 Cove Cay Dr
Pinellas Park, FL 33781
(727) 530-7071

This number is associated with Phoenix Cons. Because the same number has beed listed throughout rip-off reports with Phoenix Consumer. I am convinced that these are the idiots running this scam.

The other phone numbers I have are
727-466-0915
727-442-3434
727-469-8935
and of course their famous 1-866 number (866) 799-2788

I have not fallen victim to these crooks and pray that law enforcement or the FBI will get involved with them and give them jail time which they deserve after reading all the complaints against them.

I hope this helps everyone involved. Remember don't give out personal information over the phone. EVER! NO credit card numbers, banking information, anything. Shred all papers with personal information before throwing it in the trash.

I have awful credit from being young and stupid. And the only way to get control of your credit is time, patience and the ability to control your budget. If you need a credit card that desperatly. Save up $500 and go to your bank and sign up for a secured card. And use it wisely. It will not give you A+ credit in 1 year but after using it wisely paying it off each month and being responsible with it more opportunities will open up after time.

Don't fall for this scam its not worth the headache. Don't even answer the phone.

Solution - how to stop the calls

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 10, 2005

I have been victim to numerous calls from this obnoxious company. Here's a way you can get them to stop calling:

Contact the number 727-530-7071, ask that your phone number be removed from their database/call-list, and remind the person on the other end of the strict "do not call" request and advise that you will contact the Florida Attorney General if they do not comply.

This should work, if they do call again make sure you log the call and threaten with a lawsuit, and contact the Attorney General's office.

I Think I Just figured part of this scam out READ IMPORTANT INFORMATION

AUTHOR: Susie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 26, 2004

After reading through your letter to all of us you wrote something that just stuck with me. It seems that all of the people that Phoenix Consumer Services are contacting individuals with problem credit. I could be wrong but after reading everyones letters it occured to me. Than in this letter you mentioned how they offered you a CHEXcard. It is important that we all are made aware of the fact that any of us who have not so good credit are reported through a Bank verification center called CHEXSystems. It's like the Big Brother of everyone with bad credit people with bad credit are reported and our information is for every banking institution to have access. So if you have not so good credit and try to open another bank account you will be denied. This may sound like I'm paranoid but guess what guess who the biggest bank is out there. It's Citibank. And ever since I had a run in with them all the crap hit the fan. There the biggest con artist of them all and don't be surprised if they have a stake in Phoenix. Who knows if they have this organization as a subsidiary company working to retrieve money for unpaid debt or debt which is being disputed. It's makes you wonder why Phoenix after all the complaints made have not been dealt with by now. Who is the parent company? Thats a good question to get answered. Two men were also indicted for fraud who worked for Phoenix Financial Services. Sometimes we forget to look deeper. Our info is being sold off by people who have no right to sell our private info but are getting away with it. Tell me what you think?

Might help

AUTHOR: Carolyn - (U.S.A.)

I had received a call today from Phoenix consumer services. I Picked up the phone and they asked for me. I said I wasn't home because I thought they were a collection agency. I asked if I could take a message and the man stated it was a curtousy call.
The number that came up on my caller ID was 727-530-7071.
I did a search on this company only to find a bunch of consumer complaints.
I looked up the number on a reverse search through anywho.com. Here is the info. I found:
Glass, George & Janet
3200 Cove cay Dr
Pinellas Park, FL
33781
Granitz, Don & Jean
3200 Cove cay Dr
Pinellas Park, FL
33781

I hope this helps. Also I would file a complaint with the FBI and give them the above info. Maybe they can do something about it so no one else gets ripped off.

Good Luck all

Also found this on another sight:

This company contacted me to offer me a credit card because they were aware of my struggle with re-establishing my credit (silly me, didn't think about where they might have gotten that info..)

I was told if I pay their fee of $129.95 I would receive a credit card from them. The fee was taken from my bank account as an electronic check (makes it harder to dispute with the bank). A few weeks passed and I received nothing. I called the customer service line to ask when my card should arrive, and I was told 14-21 business days.

A week or so passed and I received a booklet in the mail that had general info on credit and a list of other companies where other credit cards could be requested from. Most importantly, it says right in the front of the booklet: "As a complimentary gift, you will be issued a Chexcard Mastercard. Please review the Terms & Conditions listed in the Frequently Asked Questions booklet..." There was no other booklet with this info booklet.

I waited another few weeks, still nothing. I tried for two weeks to get someone on the customer service line, finally I explained the time that had passed and that I had only received the booklet. The woman told me that all I had to do was follow the instructions in the back of the book and apply MYSELF to one of the companies listed.

I hung up and searched through the book to see if I had missed something. I called back to explain the discrepancy with the information I was given over the phone and with the info in the booklet. The woman then told me I should not have received that booklet because the info was outdated. I asked what I paid the $129.95 for. She told me it was for this 'program' of applying for the credit cards. I told her that the companies listed in the booklet all listed application fees and annual fees. She told me that I would not have to pay anything else and I should not be charged any more money. I hung up again.

I called all the numbers listed. Two are invalid numbers, the others ask for an established account number or a social security number right away.

All while I was doing this, I found several fraud reports on this company (Phoenix Consumer Services), and I also did research on the credit card companies they listed in the booklet. Either there was no information at all, or I found that there were SEVERAL fraud reports and complaints from unhappy customers.

I hope you are reading this before applying to any credit card, and as a lesson a lot of us are learning the hard way..NEVER give ANY important information to callers. Unless YOU initiate the call to your BANK, no one should be getting your important personal numbers!!!

Finally after contacting several agencies, I have received my refund.

To update their address:
7551 Ulmerton Road, Suite F
Largo, FL 33771

They sent a nice letter to the Consumer Protection Department of Pinellas County, Florida that basically made me sound like a dummy, but they refunded my money ayway.
