I got this companys info off of indeed.com, craigslist.com, etc. And set up an interview with Ms BEVERLY on WEDNESDAY 5/18/2016, and from the start as soon as I got there i wasn't sure. They keep forcing and talking about $125 and assure you of a job. They promise me that the whole money is refundable and I will definitely get a schedule the follow MONDAY talking about $17-22 per hour for a cleaning position (Which is not true but since they expert at lying, they got me to pay $125 first. After that, Mr SINGH started talking about attending a OSHA class where i have to pay extra $394 which they won't tell you about until i was done with the first payment..) It was a feeling of uncertainty. You walk in and theres the receptionist behind a desk. And to the right off it is a small room with a couple of chairs and a t.v. Along with a plant. It was almost completely empty. So after 30minutes, I get called in for the interview by Mr SINGH. As I go into the office all thats in there is a desk which had nothing on it except for a couple of OSHA card with someone elses name on it. And to top it off he tells me that hes conducting a quick interview like wtf is a quick interview. And after about 10 minutes of this bs conversation he hits me with some s**t like well your going to have to pay a $125 fee for joining the company then after that would pay $394 for the OSHA card (Total of $519). after that we finished talking and I left (but before they shut the door, i looked back and saw they secretary winked at Mr Singh with a dubious sign.. that's when i knew i'm fu*ked). I called a close friend to explain the situation to him and he told me it was a scam (at first i didn't believe it was a scam) that i should go back for my refund which they initially promised me. the next day i went back to ask for my refund that's when i knew it's a NEW YORK thing they do to people everyday (Luckily, i saved 2 people from paying the $125 which got them very mad). So to everybody out there trying to do cleaning, general labor or security job, I strongly advise you not to apply to this company (PHOENIX VOCATIONAL SERVICES, LLC located at 265 W 37TH ST 2ND FL, NEW YORK, NEW YORK, 10018). Save yourself the MONEY, time and effort.
