Planet Suzuki of Charlotte sent out invitation mail fliers for an event on the weekend of October 08, 2011. The flyer had a scratch-off mark, promising a "Big Win".

The available prices were a) an Apple I-POD, b) a lap-top, c) a 60" Flat-Screen TV, d) a $100.- Subway Gift card and e) a new Suzuki, worth about $15.000, a car key was attached to the flyer.

After scratching off our winning number we were prompted to call in to Suzuki, which we did. We had to tell the lady on the phone, Staci, our winning ticket number and were informed that we indeed had won a "Big Prize". Then
we were scheduled to come and take home our big prize on Saturday, October 08, 2011 at 02:00pm. At the same time Suzuki claimed that our lunch was on them.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by a sales-man, who ushered us to a young lady behind a desk to fill out our registration. We then were moved on to sit at a table where we had to put in our personal details, name, address, phone number. Shortly after we were ushered to another table where a man was awaiting for us with a stack of fliers and subway gift-cards next to him.

There was no sign of an Apple I-PD or a lap-top or a 60"TV, however there was a small plate with a cheap plastic lock on it.He quickly explained that he hopes we have the winning number for the car so he can return to the golf course, then ripped the key off the flyer and told us that we had not a winning ticket.

We asked about the winning number on the other site of the flyer, which the lady on the phone with the name Staci had promised to be a big prize. At that point he reached into the box with subway gift cards, handed one to us and told us "Here is a Subway gift-card, pre-loaded with $5, go get yourself a sandwich.  Then he added that he is here on behalf of 31Credit Institutes to help us get a loan.

When it was obvious that we were not interested to get into debt over a new car the meeting was over and
we were sent on our way. Our visit lasted about 10 minutes. We spent about $30 on as, driving all the way across town with the promise of a minimum prize of a $100 Subway gift card and left with a lousy $5 gift card and the lunch that was supposed to be on Suzuki never showed up. We went out of our way and changed our weekend plans for a misinterpretation of a material fact.

We are very unsatisfied with the course of events and feel rather scammed.

The Real Story

AUTHOR: Planet Suzuki - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Being a representative of Planet Suzuki I can tell you that these promotions are well researched by attorneys and are real promotions. This individual was in no way promised anything other than a prize. Our telephone agents do not know, nor do they have a way of knowing if you have won anything, but everyone walks away with something!! The majority of the people do win gift cards from Subway, etc, but they do get something.

This person wanted to believe that they had won a car and advised me that she had "told all her friends, and was now upset that she had to tell them differently." She has contacted everyone from the owner to the corporate offices of Suzuki and has gotten no satisfaction, so she now attempts to smear our reputation in the ripoff report. I ask that this be removed from this site, and our corporate reputation is restored. We feel this information is in error because of the misrepresentations made by the writer of this report.
