I was contacted by Platinum Benefit Group about a credit card that had a low interest rate. I sounded like a good think until I found out that it was a pre-paid card. I was told that it was safer than using cash. They never told me that it was a pre-paid card at the time that I signed up for it. When I found out, I cancelled the card. In fact, I told them several times that I didn't want it because using cash is better than a pre-paid card. I went to the bank to change my bank account and I found out that Platinum Benefit Group had taken 129.00 dollars out of my account when I specifically cancelled their benefits, and told them not to. They took the money out of my account at 3:30 Am. I called them up, and I was informed by them that they will send me a form for me to get my money back. I received the form; and it told me all the reason's why I shouldn't cancel my account. I called them up again, and they verified that it was a pre-paid card, but not a credit card. I again told them that I wasn't interested. I sent the form back to them requesting my money back. I received a letter from them and they stated that they have reviewed the recording of the offer of their Platinum Benefit Group Plan along with the Store Value MasterCard presented to you (I never received the Store Value MasterCard. It was never presented to me). They continue to say that their program and billing was clearly explained and authorized by me (It wasn't. I repeatedly told them that I wasn't interested). They said in the letter that the Group Plan was cancelled and that my checking account wasn't going to be charge again; but then they say that after a thorough review of my account, "we regret to inform you that no credit is due," In other words, their not going to give me my money back. The 129 dollars. I want my money back. They have no right to keep it when I repeatedly told them that I wasn't interested in the Platinum Benefit Plan. This organization is a rip off, and I want my money back. The Better Business Bureau has already been notified. This company will give me my money back. They are thieves and liars, and a major rip off.
